Purpose of the Position 

NYL Real Estate Investors - Real Estate Intelligence Division

The Real Estate Intelligence Division leverages data and emerging technology to help evolve NYL Real Estate Investors business processes and reporting, strategically and tactically.  The department oversees the development and implementation of business infrastructural plans and operating models required to scale NYL’s real estate investment management program. 


We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, and technically competent individual with an interest in business data analytics to join us as a Director, Real Estate Intelligence. Please note this is a hybrid opportunity. 


Key Responsibilities:


Real Estate Intelligence is a small group of agile, service-oriented individuals responsible for assisting Real Estate Investors to make faster and better data driven divisions.  While the tasks vary significantly, the core functions of the role are to:

  • Drive the execution and adoption of Real Estate Investors strategic investments in data, process and technology by partnering with division heads.
  • Architecture and planning of market data, systems and processes to support real estate investment management including research and due diligence on emerging data sets, technology and coordination across divisions.
  • Implementation, project management and maintenance of real estate systems.
  • Develop investment analyses and insights across real estate investment programs in partnership with portfolio management.


Candidate Qualifications:

  • University degree in relevant field (Business, Accounting, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics)
  •  Minimum of 10+ years of experience 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively respond to changes in workflow, priorities and workload, as well as demonstrated skill in handling a diverse range of assignments.
  • Proficient project manager and creative problem solver.
  • Able to work autonomously, as well as with diverse groups of people, respond to challenges and manage time effectively in order to meet deadlines.
  • Team player who is versatile, organized, efficient, proactive, conscientious and assumes accountability and responsibility for specific performance and work product.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate with key investment decision makers.
  • Exceptional technical skills, including mastery of MS office and SQL as well as working knowledge of BI reporting tools such as Qlik.
  • Significant understanding and appreciation for the support infrastructure necessary to influence decision making regarding global real estate portfolios.
  • Real estate asset management knowledge, including direct, indirect and debt transactions.
