Role Summary:

The Director of Web Experience leads the creation of integrated and effective digital solutions for This role will lead a cross-functional team to deliver web projects / programs that drive business results. The ideal candidate would be comfortable leading sessions with business stakeholders, marketing, design, content operations, and compliance to seamlessly deliver best-in-class web experiences which align to key business goals.


Key Responsibilities:

Product Development & Delivery

  • Develop web strategies / product roadmaps that align to key business goals
  • Create and manage large-scale digital project plans for delivery of experiences across several line of businesses and key stakeholders
  • Provides industry experience to solve complex digital challenges and makes strategic decisions to achieve program goals
  • Lead discovery sessions to gather product requirements and ensure the development of new web experiences align to defined strategies
  • Provide actionable feedback and recommendations that drive strategic initiatives and issue resolution
  • Provides industry experience to solve complex digital challenges and makes strategic decisions to achieve program goals
  • Guides and direct the research and design for delivering key product enhancements (UX/UI, user journeys, onsite search, SEO, etc.) 



  • Works across the organization to understand and enable digital experiences that contributes to the overall success of NYL
  • Anticipates changes within the digital market and insurance industry, and recommend solutions / enhancements for future web optimizations
  • Manages team of digital product managers and works with a cross-functional team of UX, UI, SEO, content, and other key stakeholders to develop digital experiences and ongoing product enhancements
  • Create and deliver presentations for key stakeholders (including executives) on project progress and product enhancements
  • Help define key processes and workflow for delivering digital experiences


Analytics and Measurement

  • Work with internal performance analytics team to report on key insights that inform web enhancements
  • Work with internal / external teams to develop, conduct and assess online user tests to identify future enhancement opportunities
  • Work with internal / external stakeholders to develop, conduct, and assess onsite testing strategies (AB, Multivariate, and targeted experiences)


Basic Requirements:

  • 8+ years of work experience with 2+ years of experience leading teams and building consumer facing digital products
  • Specialized depth of knowledge and/or breadth of experience with web product management (UX, UI, Content, SEO, HTML, coding principles, etc.) 
  • Experience with managing multiple projects in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
  • Solves unique and complex problems; requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop solutions
  • Competent using data and consumer insights to make strategic decisions 
  • Experience with managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, very deadline-driven environment
  • Demonstrates leadership with a team first mentality and the ability to build cross-functional relationships
  • Strong presentation and communication skills. Ability to communicate complex ideas with others (all levels) and influence audience to align to a single strategic point of view
