New York Life is looking for an experienced content marketer to develop and lead the marketing content and campaign strategy for our NYL field force, with the goal of enabling prospecting, lead generation, and personal brand development. In this role you will lead our Field Marketing Content Strategy & Development team, encompassing several functions critical to the success of the organization.  Reporting to the Vice President of Field & Product Marketing, this role will drive the development of an overall field content strategy, along with the overseeing the day-to-day execution for all field marketing content.  By working closely with the Field Marketing content leads for the different audiences & stakeholders, the team coordinates which content to develop and when. This role will also oversee the communications of key marketing initiatives to the field ensuring awareness and adoption. 


The Field Content Strategy & Development Lead role is a highly cross-functional role and will work closely with team members across Marketing and Sales.  We are seeking an individual who is comfortable leading a team that can respond and adapt to a dynamic environment, has strong collaboration skills and has the ability to understand and work with various stakeholders across the organization.


•    Leveraging NYL’s overarching brand content strategy, lead a team to develop and execute a content and campaign strategy to support our field force, including advisors and recruiters; Design a program calendar to help position New York Life’s field force as thought leaders; Maintain and grow library of foundational content together with internal subject matter experts and product teams
•    Analyze the competitive landscape to identify industry trends, strengths, and weaknesses to assess impact of programming and opportunities for expansion
•    Generate new content ideas and formats in partnership with stakeholders across the marketing organization and the Foundational Business to ensure we are delivering the most effective and current approaches
•    Respond to market action, volatility, and breaking news to ensure accessible, actionable content is readily available to the field
•    Monitor and measure content activities to inform content optimizations
•    Ensure content is in compliance with all defined rules, procedures, and approvals
•    Manage prioritization for all Field Marketing content requests; rank order projects according to business value and timeline needs; Provide leadership for content creation team by providing necessary context and clarification around business needs 
•    Drives the content execution by ensuring content briefs from marketing leads are clear and support desired deliverables
•    Build and foster strong relationships across Marketing and actively engage with key stakeholders throughout the organization to ensure our content is meeting the expanding importance to drive key business initiatives
•    Oversee the socialization and distribution of key marketing initiatives to the field; Determine the appropriate communication channels, messaging and key stakeholders for desired outcomes 


•    Minimum 8+ years’ work experience; 5+ years of relevant/comparable experience in financial services marketing, preferably in content & communications
•    In-depth knowledge and/or breadth of experience in financial services 
•    Ability to problem solve to support strategic decisions; proactive, innovative thinker who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic, and demanding environments
•    Ability to anticipate business issues or concerns; recommends improvements  
•    Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects, prioritize and resolve complex problems and escalate as necessary, in a deadline-oriented environment
•    Strong communication skills; communicates complex ideas, persuades and negotiates with others effectively at all levels 
•    Be a highly motivated, team player who is adaptable and enjoys working in a collaborative environment; ability to work in a highly matrixed organization
•    Project and process management skills, including proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
•    Executive presence; self-starter with and a passion to deliver results
•    Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up sleeves to get the job done

•    Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in marketing or related field


Department: Marketing

Location: Home Office (NYC); hybrid (three days a week in the office, two days remote)



Salary range: $115,000-$175,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No
