Opportunity

The role is within NYLIM’s Multi-Asset Solutions Group (“MAS”), NYLIM’s multi-asset specialists with over $13.0 billion in assets under management as of June 2018. MAS is primarily responsible for managing a range of multi-asset products and providing multi-asset and global economic thought leadership.

We currently have a position open in our New York location for a highly skilled fixed income research analyst focusing on fixed income investment strategy and portfolio construction to support MAS’s portfolio managers in managing our multi-asset products. The individual will report to the team’s senior portfolio manager and co-head of MAS.

  • Researching and communicating investment opportunities and capital market insights
  • Portfolio optimization and scenario analysis, including the delivery of portfolio analytics and investment analysis to the sales force, advisors and other business partners
  • Support research projects on portfolio construction and multi-asset class investment strategies   
  • Writing for the firm’s flagship publications, blogs and other reports
  • Developing preparing presentation materials to support the firm’s weekly strategy calls and client meetings
  • Supporting the MainStay sales force in client/prospect meetings and presentations

 

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in fixed income portfolio management or fixed income trading a must
  • Programming experience in e.g. Matlab, R, Python a plus
  • Strong written, analytical and quantitative skills
  • Strong PC skills, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Experience in portfolio optimization, simulation and stress-testing a plus
  • Experience with tools such as Bloomberg, Factset, Aladdin, POINT, Yieldbook, a plus
  • Presentation skills a must
  • Advanced degrees and CFA are pluses
  • Ability to work collaboratively to achieve team objectives
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and complete them on time
