Instructional Design Partner

Role Overview
As a key member of New York Life’s Talent & Leadership Development Center of Excellence, the Senior Associate, Learning Experience Designer drives enterprise-wide capability building through innovative, scalable, and results-driven learning programs. This role combines strategic instructional design expertise with hands-on development to create impactful, blended learning experiences aligned with business priorities. Leveraging adult learning principles and industry best practices, the LXD partners with stakeholders to assess needs, design targeted solutions, and continuously evaluate program effectiveness—enabling talent growth from early career to senior leadership levels
What You’ll Do:
Learning Experience Design & Development
- Analyze learner and business needs using instructional design best practices and adult learning theory.
- Design, develop, and deliver blended learning solutions (eLearning, live virtual, instructor-led, simulations, GenAI-enabled content, microlearning).
- Leverage tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite, Vyond, Camtasia, and LMS platforms.
- Tailor solutions to diverse audiences, ensuring relevance, engagement, and accessibility.
Content & Program Design
- Build modular and scalable programs to support talent and leadership development goals.
- Collaborate with SMEs, stakeholders, and learning partners to align learning strategies with business outcomes.
- Define clear learning objectives, program architecture, and supporting materials using design models (ADDIE, SAM, Agile).
Project Management & Implementation
- Lead full-cycle design projects including stakeholder intake, solution design, development, delivery, and impact evaluation.
- Coordinate with facilitators and training teams for program delivery and deployment.
- Manage project documentation including plans, outlines, and communication strategies.
Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with analysts to define performance success metrics and assess learning impact.
- Maintain and evolve content through version control, periodic reviews, and updates aligned to business changes.
- Stay current with instructional trends and apply innovations (AI, gamification, digital learning).
Mentorship & Collaboration
- Provide guidance to peers, share best practices, and contribute to a collaborative, forward-thinking learning culture.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning Development, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of instructional design experience with a demonstrated ability to create impactful learning solutions that drive employee development across all levels, aligned with organizational priorities and values."
- Advanced expertise in instructional design models, digital learning tools, and adult learning principles.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, project management, and time management skills.
- Adaptable and innovative with a growth mindset and passion for continuous improvement.
Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $77,500-$101,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
