Investment Grade Credit Research Sr. Associate
Location Designation: Hybrid - 4 days per week
NYL Investors is seeking a highly qualified investment analyst to join our Public High Grade Corporate Credit Group within our Fixed Income Investors (FII) Group. Fixed Income Investors is a multi-product fixed income asset management division of NYL Investors LLC, which is part of New York Life’s $785 billion global investment platform. FII focuses on U.S. dollar-denominated debt in the following asset classes: investment grade credit securities, high yield bonds, senior secured floating rate loans, mortgage-backed, asset-backed and other structured securities, treasuries, agencies, and money market instruments. FII provides a broad array of investment advisory services to affiliated insurance companies’ general and separate accounts and other affiliated corporate entities: third-party institutional clients, retail clients, investment companies and other pooled investment vehicles. The Public High-Grade Credit Group is responsible for a portfolio of over $95 billion Corporate bonds.
What You’ll Do:
- Work closely with senior research analysts to perform fundamental credit analysis for a portfolio of investment grade companies
- Monitor various industries, including changes or shifts in industry fundamentals that potentially affect company results and investment performance
- Use financial models to analyze the capital structure and creditworthiness of existing and potential new investments
- Review and summarize offering memoranda and present findings and recommendations to management
- Collaborate with portfolio management and trading professionals to assess relative value and evaluate new investment opportunities
- Analyze new transactions applying sound credit analysis, financial analysis, and research skills
- Prepare credit memorandums and present research findings to a credit committee
- Maintain timely reporting and documentation of transactions
- Prepare topical presentations, portfolio reports, and other special projects
What You’ll Bring:
- BA required - preferably with a concentration in Finance, Accounting, Math, Economics, or Engineering
- 5 to 10 years of experience in credit research involving both qualitative and quantitative analysis
- Well-developed quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written & oral communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team with multiple reporting lines
- Strong team player with the ability to manage and prioritize numerous tasks

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $115,000-$150,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
