This position primarily involves a hybrid work schedule - working remotely: Monday & Friday / on site: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The Institutional Life Department (IL) offers sophisticated life insurance products in the Bank Owned Life Insurance (BOLI), Corporate Owned Life Insurance (COLI) and Corporate Sponsored markets, designed to support highly compensated executives and professionals.

 

New York Life is seeking a highly talented and driven investment product management associate to join our dynamic, high-performing team to support the investment components of IL’s COLI and BOLI products and will also include broader product management support.

 

  • Coordinate the due diligence review and implementation of additions and changes to the COLI investment platform by coordinating with legal, product, compliance, operations, service, marketing, and third-party investment managers
  • Assist with ongoing review and manager research of the COLI registered fund platform
  • Partner with product management colleagues to establish relationships with asset managers and obtain information as needed for reporting and marketing purposes, and for responding to ad hoc requests from the field
  • Assume responsibility for updating COLI investment collateral, e.g., general marketing of the COLI investment platform, performance reporting for COLI managed separate accounts, approach to fund selection and due diligence, etc.
  • Produce monthly performance reports for registered and exempt investment divisions on the COLI investment platform
  • Assist in the design and implementation of custom investment strategies for private placement COLI
  • Perform financial underwriting of larger BOLI and COLI prospects to analyze the financial health and stability of the institution
  • Develop familiarity with general account and guaranteed separate account BOLI portfolios
  • Provide BOLI portfolio data in response to various scheduled information requests from distribution partners
  • Produce and update client-facing BOLI collateral, e.g., financial highlights and strengths of NYLIAC as a BOLI issuer, fact sheets on BOLI investment portfolios, etc.
  • Coordinate and distribute quarterly BOLI portfolio client reports and quarterly client calls
  • Work with BOLI investment managers and reporting team to provide responses to ad hoc field inquiries
  • Support IL distribution team on investment-related issues as needed with their sales efforts for both inforce clients and new prospects
  • Update and review regulatory and offering documents, e.g., product prospectuses and PPMs

 

 Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 3+ years related experience required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical skills required.
  • Ability to quickly absorb and internalize a variety of subject matters across different products and concepts
  • Ability to multi-task and appropriately prioritize multiple projects
  • Understanding the potential downstream effects of work
  • Ability to determine appropriate escalation paired with ability to make thoughtful recommendations
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills
  • High standards of accuracy and attention to detail
  • FINRA Series 6 recommended or willingness to complete
