The team is a cross functional/inter-departmental team, led by members of the Insurance Solutions department at New York Life. The team is responsible for addressing product administrative issues.  The role will be focused on delivering program milestones and reports to the team Product Manager, as well as providing timely product decisions during the collaborative work sessions.  The role requires an in depth understanding of Retail Life products, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, excellent organizational, written and communication skills.  Previous knowledge or familiarity of life insurance taxation rules and regulations a plus.

 

  • Support the Product Manager in scoping, analyzing and prioritizing each remediation by working with IT, Service, OGC, OGC Tax and Finance Actuarial to understand the issues and root causes
  • Provide product expertise, guidance, and product-related decisions to IT, OGC, OGC Tax and Finance Actuarial
  • Work with Product Manager, IT, OGC and Finance Actuarial to propose remediation resolutions and approaches
  • Work with Service, Agency and Marketing on policyholder and agent communications
  • Document root causes and specifications and work with IT to set controls to prevent future remediations
  • Assist Product Manager in preparing materials for presentation to Steering Committee

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor Degree preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant experience with focus on Product Management/Development/Service or equivalent experience within life insurance industry.
  • Life Insurance taxation knowledge helpful
  • Positive, energetic and love tackling problems
  • Intellectually curious and like to experiment
  • Team player and have the ability to build strong working relationships with your business partners
  • Self-starter who can independently seek information, corral resources and deliver results without waiting for direction
  • Detailed, data-driven and good at writing business proposals in meaningful way
  • Expert communicator (explaining complex requirements in laymen terms when needed)
