Role Overview
As the Tax Experience and Legal Attachment Team Manager (MG1), you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the daily operations of the team to ensure a consistent, high-quality service experience for both clients, agents and internal partners. This includes guiding the team through daily work assignments, monitoring workloads, setting priorities, and ensuring that tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. A critical aspect of the role involves coaching and developing team members by setting individual and team goals that align with broader departmental objectives. You are expected to foster a collaborative and motivating work environment, consistently demonstrating positive leadership, integrity, fairness, and accountability.
In this position, you will play a key role in supporting strategic initiatives by contributing meaningful insight and perspective. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining thorough documentation, conducting testing and training, and implementing quality assurance measures to ensure operational excellence. Additionally, you will be expected to autonomously develop and produce management-level reporting, leveraging data to support performance monitoring and decision-making.
As a leader, you will be expected to support the technical and professional growth of your team members, guiding them not only through the execution of their responsibilities but also in their career development. Creating a culture of engagement, empowerment, and continuous improvement will be central to your success in this role.
What You’ll Do:
• Guide and mentor team members in resolving complex tax cases or transaction issues
• Support the annual tax form and correspondence review process by assisting with data validation, issue resolution and tax filing readiness
• Maintain a strong understanding of tax regulations and company specific processes related to tax withholding and reporting
• Collaborate with internal partners across multiple value streams to ensure proper coding of tax related transactions
• Analyze team performance data, identify trends, and recommend learning content updates or procedural changes to team needs
• Manage the day to day case work for garnishments and tax levies impacting policyholders and agents
• Ensure that appropriate federal and state regulations are followed and garnishment checks and EFTs are processed timely
• Handle escalations from clients and agents pertaining to liens and garnishments
What You’ll Bring:
You possess a strategic mindset backed by proven leadership and communication skills, enabling you to drive alignment and execution across diverse business functions. Your experience includes successfully managing complex projects and cross-functional teams, often in high-stakes, fast-paced environments. You bring deep subject matter expertise in Life and Annuity products and systems, allowing you to confidently represent business needs in both technical forums and digital transformation discussions. A natural collaborator, you excel at leading initiatives, building strong relationships across business units, and ensuring consistent, aligned messaging that supports organizational goals.
Required Skills:
• People management experience preferred
• Subject matter expertise on Life and Annuity products, processes, and systems
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to set a clear vision and long-term goals for the team
Preferred Skills:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
• Strong aptitude and enthusiasm for integrating AI technologies into business processes to drive efficiency and innovation
• Strongly preferred - bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $62,500-$105,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
