Role Summary

New York Life is looking for a Program Manager to help operationalize our strategy and key business initiatives as part of the Campaign Management practice in the Digital & Performance Marketing Center.  The Campaign Management practice is responsible for leading strategic programs and projects aimed at driving incremental business value for the organization.  The ideal candidate will have a track record of leading complex marketing projects with multiple stakeholders. They are highly organized and accountable leaders, who can build relationships and collaborate with a broad set of team members.  In this role, you will develop program level strategies and lead cross functional teams to deliver on desired outcomes. The Program Manager should have a can-do attitude, excellent written and verbal presentation skills and ability to pivot as the business requires.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead strategic programs and projects to drive value for the Marketing organization
  • Drive the overall development and delivery of the program.  Create program briefs that outline the goals and objectives of the program, pulls together research and insights for our key audiences, and articulates the key KPIs to measure and track project and program performance
  • Lead cross functional teams comprised of key partners, including research and insights, brand, channel managers, field marketing and enablement, aimed at collectively driving program outcomes. Mobilize and drive the team towards forward progress, action and results. 
  • Predict roadblocks and obstacles and establish integration points between teams
  • Prioritize competing needs with logic, data and creative solutions
  • In collaboration with the project management office, accountable for the program roadmap and key milestones.  Maintain and refine programs and initiatives, establishing best practices, next steps, and outcomes.
  • Report out on results to senior leadership team via quarterly business reviews and weekly reporting; monitor outcomes and recommend pivots when necessary
  • Identify growth and improvement opportunities and evaluate the value and impact of programs on our business 
     
    Skills: 
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing; experience in the financial services or life insurance industry or with an agency distribution model a plus
  • Experience with building and driving performance-based marketing programs
  • Ability to use data and consumer insights to make strategic decisions 
  • Experience with managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong presentation and communication skills. Ability to communicate complex ideas to a variety of audiences (junior to senior leadership) and persuade audience to align to a single strategic point of view. 
  • Proven leader with a team first mentality and the ability to build cross-functional and collaborative relationships
  • Exceptional problem solving & analytical skills
  • Experience managing stakeholders, collaborating, building alignment and influencing others to move work and initiatives forward successfully
  • Experience working independently with minimum supervision and leading multiple projects simultaneously involving various internal and external partners
  • Ability to quickly identify challenges and clearly articulate creative, practical solutions even when dealing
  • Demonstrated capability to get things done on budget and on time
