We are looking for an outstanding mid level UX/UI designer to join the NYL.com web marketing team. This full-time role will report to the Senior Design Manager. As a UX/UI designer at NYL, you will collaborate closely with both internal cross-functional teams and external vendors to develop the best-in-class digital user experience to our customers. You will make impacts on helping our customers to make important life decisions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design
    • Advocate user experience and evaluate existing digital user experiences to identify areas for improvement across devices and provide solutions
    • Participate in the Design System development and continue to govern it after the built
    • Design UI elements using current design components to maintain the brand consistency
    • Incorporate research insights to create related user-centric output, including but not limiting sitemaps, user flows, user journey maps, personas, low-high fidelity wireframes and prototypes


  • Research and Testing
    • Partner with external vendors and use third-party tools to conduct user research, user testing and usability testing


  • Leadership
    • Partner with external partners to create strategic design solutions aligned with both business requirement and user needs
    • Collaborate with internal cross-disciplinary teams including research insights, product teams, designers, writers, SEO, engineers and business stakeholders to deliver the first-class digital products in an agile environment
    • Anticipate changes within the digital marketing and insurance industry, and recommend solutions to enhance future optimizations



  • Work Experiences:
    • Bachelor's degree required
    • 5+ years of digital design working experience
    • 3+ years of experience in UX or Product design discipline required


  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite
    • Familiarity with accessibility standards such as WCAG and ADA
    • In-depth knowledge of both qualitative & quantitative user research mythologies, user testing and usability testing
    • Knowledge for interpreting user research data and site analytics to make data-informed design decisions
    • Experience of working on agile environment
    • Understanding the value of design systems


  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent team collaboration and relationship management skills
    • Strong communication skills to articulate concepts and design to a variety of key stakeholders
    • Advanced problem-solving skills to align agreement with cross-functional teams
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple milestones and projects efficiently
    • Attention to detail and organized with design deliverables 
    • Self-motivated and ability to work independently with minimal guidance


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience of working with Adobe Experience Management or other CMS systems
  • Experience of creating Design Systems
  • Understanding or experience using Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics
  • Understanding the value of SEO
  • Experience of working with User Testing or other testing tools
  • Experience of collaborating with external design vendors
  • Experience working with financial/insurance industry
