Position Summary

  The Operations Associate will be responsible for servicing the proposal process accurately and timely, including managing of the Worksite mailbox. Working under the direction of the Operations Manager, the associate role will also include, monitoring Third Party Administrator (TPA) compliance and day to day procedures. In addition, this role will be supporting the Worksite business in Product, Compliance, Service and IT. Furthermore, the associate will work closely with the Product Managers and Operations team on a myriad of assignments ranging from ad hoc and special projects, as well as supporting field partners with product and service inquiries. This position is highly collaborative requiring regular communication with internal and external business partners in servicing Worksite Products such as Individual Life (Employee Whole Life & NYL-A-Plan) and Group Employee Benefits products (Group Term Life, Short Term Disability and Long-Term Disability).



  • ·Process and track all Request for Proposals (RFP) submissions for the Financial Underwriting team including large and small groups plan offerings, including:
  • Verify licensing and training requirements of agents
  • Verify RFP submissions are in good order by obtaining all necessary information from agents through active follow-ups agents on any missing paperwork and track the progress of the case from initial submission to successful installation
  • Ensure sold proposals installation paperwork is sent to DRMS in a timely manner
  • ·Reply to inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • ·Manage the worksite@nyl.com email inbox and assign requests to their respective areas (Training, Sales, Marketing etc.)
  • ·Respond to field inquiries from the worksite@nyl.com email inbox from field partners for Worksite Products
  • ·Participate in compliance tasks including, quality review, regulatory notices, and auditing tasks
  • ·Monitor and report TPA Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to Worksite SLT
  • ·Provide exceptional customer service when interfacing with internal and external business partners
  • ·Learn and maintain a strong understanding of New York Life’s Worksite Products
  • ·Participate on special projects as assigned and meet time sensitive deadlines
  • ·Support the Worksite team where needed


  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or related industry experience
  • Effective interpersonal skills with a service minded team attitude
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Solid computer skills, must be able to work with Microsoft Excel and Word applications, as well as web-based applications for recording and tracking of RFP submissions
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, complete multiple tasks concurrently
  • Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn, to improve and build efficiencies in duties and responsibilities
  • Operates with a high sense of urgency
  • Preferred 2 – 3 years’ experience working within the Life Insurance/Financial Service industry preferred
  • Demonstrated organizational and follow-up skills
