The Portfolio Analytics Senior Associate will be responsible to support execution of OCIO’s portfolio strategy and oversight of portfolio activities. The role offers a unique opportunity to simultaneously learn portfolio management and the various fixed income / equity / alternative asset classes. The individual will work closely with other team members within OCIO, other departments of New York Life, and internal/external asset managers.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist in manager search and evaluation
- Reporting to support the monitoring and analysis on progress and performance of investment programs
- Communication and interaction with various functions outside OCIO, across investment, finance, risk, legal & compliance etc.
- Ensure proper data management, flow of information, and consistency of applications to our investment and portfolio process
- Assist in onboarding/implementation of investment strategies/funds
- Support investment/commitment projection, and related corporate internal/external reporting
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a Quantitative, Finance or related field
- 2 to 4 years of related work experience or 1 to 3 years of experience working in a data or quantitative role within the Finance or Insurance Industry
- High standard of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks/deals, respond to changing priorities, and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical, quantitative, critical reasoning, and financial modeling skills
- Performance attribution in Fixed Income preferred
- Proficient in Excel and Powerpoint
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a diverse team that collaborates across the organization
- Familiarity with accounting (statutory and GAAP)
- Exposure to capital markets and alternative investments preferred with a strong interest in advancing understanding of investment strategies
Salary range: $80,000-$100,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
