Deputy Portfolio Manager will be a key member of the CMBS and Capital Markets group. The role focuses on CMBS investing, capital markets structuring, and platform development within a growing institutional real estate investment platform. This entails managing the securitization of NYLREI-originated commercial mortgage loans where NYLI retains the subordinate tranches, including the control-eligible class(es).  It also includes the purchase of control-eligible SASB classes in primary market CMBS offerings.
  • Conduct portfolio surveillance and coordinate investment reporting to internal and external constituents. Coordinate with team members to address credit concerns and supervise periodic surveillance reporting. Consult with CMBS loan servicers in managing the resolution of specially serviced SASB CMBS.
  • Assist in developing and executing capital markets financing solutions for NYLREI’s structured debt platform.  Identify and execute financing solutions for individual loans as well as term lending facilities for the platform.  The ability to develop and retain key bank and other lender relationships is required.
  • Collaborate with NYLREI’s business development team to expand NYLREI’s external asset management platform. Successfully fulfill existing CMBS asset management mandates and develop new asset management initiatives.
