Position Summary

Working under the direction of the Client and Agent Protection Team's Corporate Vice President, the Manager is responsible for acting as a Client Identification Program and fraud expert and liaison to the Client & Agent Protection team, the broader Service organization and the team’s business partners. This individual will support the Client & Agent Protection team with providing the highest level of protection to the company, our clients and agents against financial and reputational losses. This role will involve enhancing the Client & Agent Protection team’s knowledge of the risk and fraud landscape within NYL and the industry by helping them understand the nature of the preventative and detective tools and measures to mitigate fraud risks. This individual will increase the team’s ability to address emerging fraud schemes and ways to shore up gaps by leveraging technology or through procedural changes.

The individual must possess the ability to act as a coach and leader, be able to drive improvement opportunities for furthering the Client & Agent Protection team’s goal to provide the highest level of protection to the company, or clients and agents against financial and reputational losses. Swiftly and effectively detect and prevent fraudulent activity while acting as a trusted advocate for those effected by any risk events.

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Act as a fraud expert/liaison in a leadership role on the Client & Agent Protection team.
  • Provide guidance to the Client and Agent Protection Analyst to help identify controls in place to mitigate suspicious activity and identify control gaps.
  • Keep up with current fraud detection and prevention tools, the fraud landscape within NYL and the industry and participate in ongoing training/conferences to enhance his/her skill set
  • Build, develop and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics support that support key business decisions.
  • Monitoring and testing of current rulesets within current link analysis tool and potential future case management
  • Creation and updating of new and current process and procedures to ensure the right protocols are being followed
  • Creation and Implementation of the Authentication Governance Policy
  • Assisting of business requirement documentation on new business initiatives. The Manager will at times act as a project manager to help facilitate initiatives to enhance the Client & Agent Protection team’s functions. This individual will help coordinate projects with Technology, objectives and the path for implementation.
  • Manage the analyst (PF4) on the team

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent years of experience. Preferably in a business-related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience needed in Fraud, Fraud Prevention, and detection, or Fraud Schemes
  • Experience working with Data Analytics and Tools; Advanced Excel, monitoring and updated Tableau Dashboards required
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate current fraud monitoring processes in place and affect change where necessary
  • Expertise utilizing Case Management
  • Experience with the following fraud prevention/detection tools: Pindrop, Fraud Share, Giact
  • Comfortable working in white space
  • Certified Fraud Examiner Certification Preferred
