Duties: Creates and maintains optimal data pipeline architecture and utilizes the data life cycle to source data from business teams within the Service department. Generates insights and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for multiple business teams. Sources data from large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements. Identifies, designs, and implements internal process improvements and automates manual processes. Optimizes data delivery, re-designs infrastructure for greater scalability, and builds infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and data loading from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and Big Data technologies. Works with technical teams and technological systems, including Big Data platforms, Datahub, Hive, data warehouses, Oracle databases, mainframe systems, and vendor system files. Identifies appropriate ways to source data within the Service Organization. Processes and standardizes raw data from multiple data systems and translates them into an easily consumable format for business users and other technical teams. Builds data pipelines for various objectives, including data analysis, analytics, tableau dashboards, and standard reporting. Builds analytics tools that utilize data pipelines to provide actionable insights into key business performance metrics. Manipulates, processes, and extracts value from large, disconnected datasets and builds processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management. Performs root cause analysis for internal and external data, and processes it to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement. Prepares and maintains data reporting dashboards used by senior leadership. Performs ad hoc and canned data reporting and data analysis to inform business decision-making. Transforms and translates codes to function across various data sources and technical systems.

 

Education & Experience Requirements:

Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and 3 years of experience creating and maintaining databases and performing data modeling using database scripts, Big Data, MySQL, data warehouse, and ETL.

Or, in the alternative:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and 5 years of experience creating and maintaining databases and performing data modeling using database scripts, Big Data, MySQL, data warehouse, and ETL.

 

Required Special Skills:

Experience must include 1 year in each of the following skills :

Leveraging TOAD, SQL Workbench, and Microsoft SQL to build and interpret complex queries; and leveraging the Hadoop ecosystem to manipulate, process, and extract values from large, disconnected datasets;

 

Performing data modelling, Extract, Transform Load (ETL) data integration, and data warehousing to design tables and views that map business processes into an enterprise data model;

 

Optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, and identifying gaps and inconsistencies; and,    

 

Identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements, including automating manual processes and performing root cause analysis.
