Position:  Senior Associate, Senior Data Scientist


Duties: Perform data analytics and predictive modeling. Perform geospatial analysis. Participate in business review meetings with internal and external clients deriving requirements and deliverables. Process data, perform analyses and modeling to final reports/presentations, communicate results, and provide implementation support. Perform analytical analysis to maximize business benefits. Provide technical support, including strategic consulting, needs assessments, project scoping, and the preparation or presentation of analytical proposals. Leverage advanced statistical techniques to create high-performing predictive models and creative analyses to address business objectives and client needs. Test new statistical analysis methods as well as software and data sources for continual improvement of quantitative solutions. Leverage data wrangling, data matching and data Extract, Load, Transform (ETL) techniques. Perform programming in several languages to explore a variety of data sources, gain data expertise, perform summary analyses, and prepare modeling datasets. Create project milestone plans to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.


Requirements: Master's degree (or higher) in economics, finance, statistics, mathematics or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus three years' experience performing predictive modeling for the insurance industry or, alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, statistics, mathematics or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and five years' experience performing predictive modeling for the insurance industry. Specific skills/other requirements – must possess 1 year of the following: Perform predictive modeling to analyze statistical data and predict business outcomes. Use programming tools such as SAS, R, and Python to analyze data and present results to clients. Processing big data using Oracle, SQL, and spatial databases, including performing data extraction and transformation. Performing programming using data processing and data extraction, as well as predictive modeling to present to clients. Interfacing with business leaders to understand business needs and formulate into statistical analysis. Performing geospatial analysis using ArcGIS and QGIS. Presenting data and modeling findings and business recommendations to business leader, including visualizing data using Powerpoint and Excel.
