A $250 bn asset manager is looking to add a Senior Investment Professional to its research and origination team focused on the nontraditional asset backed securitization market. The team is focused on originating and executing securitized private placement transactions backed by a broad array of commercial and consumer finance receivables and assets.


The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully originating, evaluating and executing structured finance transactions in the Asset Management, Investment, or Commercial Banking Industries. 




Business Development, Analytics and Risk and Return evaluation:


  • Generate new business volume by interacting with Commercial and Investment Banks, Finance Companies, Asset Managers and Industrial Companies to source scalable transactions via the (4) (2) or 144A markets.  Identify and develop new asset classes for portfolio investment.  Manage the origination, credit, and transaction execution process to maximize individual team member contributions and provide operating leverage for senior team leaders. 
  • Assess the transaction structure, credit risk profile, projected cashflows and seller/servicer risk to develop an investment thesis and determine the suitability of the investment for New York Life.  


Transaction Execution:


  • Direct internal and external resources to effectively close transactions in a timely manner.  Supervise credit analysis, deal documentation, and rating agency engagement. Work with trading and portfolio management teams to develop transaction pricing levels and new business ideas.  Work with in-house legal and accounting teams to ensure the proper regulatory treatment of all new investments.
  • Supervisory Duties:
  • Supervise and develop a team of colleagues in all aspects of the investment management process, including, origination, execution, documentation and surveillance of portfolio assets.



  • The candidate will have 10+ years of Structured Finance origination and analytical experience specifically with Private ABS.
  • Bachelor's Degree required, MBA or CFA preferred
  • A strong track record of successful deal origination, structuring, and execution.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills along with superior presentation skills.
  • An assertive team-oriented self-starter with a positive attitude and the ability to work in a collegial fashion.
