The Sales Insights Analyst role within the Marketing and Analytics group will be a key contributor to the Business Solutions team, responsible for driving data management initiatives and analysis of the business to support strategic objectives.


The Business Solutions team is positioned to offer Employer and Employee paid benefits in the small business workplace, with a strategic goal to offer a full suite of insurance products to the underserved and unadvised marketplace.


The team is in search of a strong programmer to serve as the primary expert of client and sales data on the team. This role will focus on making data readily available and consumable in a central data hub. The role will also entail sourcing historical data elements from the vast network of legacy systems into the company’s future-state data architecture. The role will also support the team’s ongoing, client-based initiatives, ultimately providing solutions to a wide range of internal stakeholders across the business. Your solutions will be implemented into core, real-time decisions that drive the business (e.g. marketing, training, and prospecting).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Help in iterative development of long-term strategy and operating plan for Business Solutions, support strategic decision making through research, modeling, and analysis of key factors that influence and drive the business
  • Support the development of customer segmentation models, business owner profiles, sales models, campaign analysis and other ad hoc analyses
  • Interface with stakeholders to understand business strategies, requirements, and pain points that can be addressed by data solutions
  • Support the ongoing development of innovative analytics and a strategic road map to support the business' desired customer experience
  • Interact with data modelers to export, transform, and load data elements from existing data sources for use in the creation of new, user-friendly tables in the Data Hub
  • Analyze internal data architecture and data integrations to identify inefficiencies; make best practice recommendations for modeling business data and BI solutions
  • Make recommendations for business rules related to combining data across subject matters (product, customer, and agent) and create model ready dataset for consumption by stakeholders
  • Oversee data quality and ensure data is properly translated for consumption by end business users
  • Execute on various requests by sourcing raw data from multiple databases, tables and systems
  • Work independently to prototype new data solutions that support business teams in their ad hoc reporting responsibilities


Our Ideal Candidate:


  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Actuarial, or Data Science required
  • 3+ years of data analysis experience working with business data initiatives
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong Work Ethic – must be results oriented, prioritize work to meet deadlines, and show weekly progress on long-term projects
  • Adaptability – has the entrepreneurial spirit to be successful in a dynamic, changing environment and comfortable embracing new technologies
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills with ability to present complex concepts to non-analytical stakeholders
  • Proficient in data management including data analytical capability
  • Experience with data visualization techniques and tools such as Tableau is a plus
  • Strong SQL and Excel skills are required, while VBA, Python, PowerBI are a plus
  • Prior experience with Oracle database designs
  • Able to troubleshoot problem areas and identify data gaps and issues
  • A proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently with limited supervision
