We are seeking an experienced senior accountant to join our Asset Management Controllership team, part of the Corporate Controller’s group. This role has a wide variety of responsibility for accounting and financial reporting activities supporting our asset management business with over $700bil. in assets under management, including preparing financial statements, cash management, assisting with the computation of goodwill and intangible asset valuation and impairment analysis, and capital management across our subsidiary and affiliated network.  You will be a part of a small, empowered work unit that embraces efficiency and effectiveness, while working closely with members of other departments within Corporate Finance and across the company.

 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Oversee monthly close process and other accounting operations functions
  • Review of Board materials and preparation of analysis thereon
  • Provide quarterly commentary on entity specific financial statement variances
  • Manage an offshore team that assists in the performance of recurring responsibilities and identify additional opportunities for offshore team to perform work.
  • Cash and capital management for parent holding company
  • Assist with the preparation of goodwill and intangible analysis for newly acquired entities; assist with the maintenance of ongoing valuation and impairment assessment process.
  • Participate in implementation of financial strategies and improvement initiatives.
  • Develop, enhance and maintain internal controls and processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to support the organization’s financial management and decision-making.
  • Assist in the integration of newly acquired entities and new products.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance preferred.
  • 5-8 years of professional accounting/finance experience. CPA is a plus.
  • Big 4 and/or Fiancial Services industry experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret, synthesize, and present financial information.
  • Ability to plan, initiate and complete work assignments independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Experience with data modeling applications is a plus.
  • Proficient in Excel; experience with SAP general ledger is a plus.

 

 

Salary range: $90,000-$125,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No
