Position Overview

 

The Corporate Development and Strategy team works closely with the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team to help define & articulate business strategy and support oversight and execution of key enterprise strategic initiatives and other large / complex programs. The team works closely with Business, Technology, Finance and other key stakeholders to drive the annual planning process. The team also supports key decision-making forums and senior executive/Board meetings.

 

The Corporate Development and Strategy team partners with senior leaders in various business and functional areas to support development and execution of strategic initiatives within those areas. The team’s role typically includes framing and analyzing complex business problems, developing recommendations, designing and executing change management strategy and plans, partnering with line managers to drive execution, facilitating governance and communication processes, and playing a key role in informing and influencing decision making. The team comprises of high performing individuals with strong academic credentials and professional experiences with background in management consulting.

 

As New York Life continues to grow and evolve, the team is seeking a Change Management (“CM”) professional to deliver on strategic change initiatives and to further strengthen the organizational capacity for change.

 

Role Description

 

Thought Leadership & Advisory

  • Analyze strategic initiatives and frame change vision, case for change, and people implications
  • Develop CM strategies by assessing change impacts and conducting stakeholder analysis
  • Design and execute stakeholder engagement plan to build awareness and drive adoption
  • Drive consensus by developing and presenting CM recommendations to senior leadership
  • Provide viewpoint on change readiness to ensure effective execution of cross-functional strategic initiatives, including interdependencies between key business, technology, and financial planning processes
  • Influence and engage stakeholders across the organization, drive collaboration and trust to ensure successful implementation of strategic CM priorities
  • Infuse industry best practices and innovative CM ideas to elevate the Office of Change Management’s Center of Excellence capability

 

Project Leadership

  • Secure in-depth understanding of NYL CM methodologies and tools to design CM plans for strategic initiatives
  • Approach projects holistically, owning and driving all CM aspects with guidance from senior team members
  • Strategize and deploy tactics to drive awareness and adoption of new mindsets, skillsets, and toolsets
  • Lead execution of CM plans by forming collaborative partnerships with business and project implementation teams (e.g., Project Managers, Business Unit CM teams)
  • Work in close concert with key stakeholders (e.g., Corporate Communications, Chiefs of Staff, and HR teams) to ensure sequencing and messaging of communications aligns with broader company strategy
  • Support agenda and materials development for senior executive audiences & meetings (e.g., CM Council, CM Leader meeting, CM Training)
  • Manage CM governance processes, ensuring regular communication and coordination of CM initiatives

 

Desired Qualifications

We are looking for outstanding individuals with excellent people skills, deep intellectual & analytical capabilities, pragmatic problem-solving skills, strong communications & influencing capabilities, a robust strategy & CM toolkit and a passion to effect change across the organization.

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 2-3 years in a top-tier management consulting firm
  • Outstanding people and relationship building skills
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and quantitative abilities
  • Strong communication skills to promote key wins and new behaviors throughout the organization
  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and managing largescale organizational change initiatives – exhibit resilience and tenacity to keep stakeholders energized and committed throughout the change lifecycle, managing change fatigue and reinforcing change to realize expected business benefits
  • Collaborative leadership and work style with ability to effectively interact with, and earn trust of peers and senior management across the organization
  • Project and process management skills, including proven ability to manage multiple CM initiatives simultaneously
  • Experience in financial services preferred, insurance expertise is a plus

Hybrid work arrangement, in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and work remote on Monday and Friday!!

Salary range: $105,000-$160,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No
