Senior Associate, Fraud Prevention and Detection Analyst
Location Designation: Hybrid - 1 day per week
Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Associate to join our Purchase Experience Insights & Analytics team. This role focuses on investigating suspicious activity, vetting critical information to validate applicant details, and making actionable recommendations based on findings. The ideal candidate will work independently and serve as a liaison between management and key business units including Agency Standards, Corporate Compliance, and the Special Investigation Unit.
What You’ll Do:
- Investigate fraud-related issues and suspicious application activity.
- Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, red flags, and inconsistencies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including Legal, Compliance, and Underwriting.
- Present findings and propose solutions to address identified risks.
- Maintain and improve fraud detection processes, tools, and training.
- Utilize tools like LexisNexis for verification and analysis.
- Contribute to the development of metrics for Enhanced Underwriting review.
- Communicate findings and insights across business functions.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in fraud operations or investigative roles
- Experience in one of these areas currently: Underwriting, SIU, Corporate Compliance, and Agency Standard
- Demonstrated expertise in identifying, analyzing, and resolving suspicious activity with strong attention to detail
- Proficient in fraud detection tools and technologies, with a working knowledge of NYL systems and standards
- Advanced Excel skills with at least 3+ years of experience in data analysis and reporting
- Experience using Tableau or similar data visualization tools to support reporting and decision-making
- Familiarity with AI tools and technologies, with a focus on leveraging them to support data-driven decision-making
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all organizational levels
- Strong decision-making skills with a proven track record of delivering sound, actionable recommendations
- Committed to maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and collaboration across functions
- At least 1–2 yearsof prior experience in the insurance industry, ideally within underwriting, fraud prevention, AML, or compliance
- Adaptable and growth-oriented, with a proactive approach to learning and continuous improvement
- Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $79,000-$113,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
