Senior Associate, GBS Strategy

 

Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week

Role overview :

 

The GBS Strategy team plays a pivotal role in shaping the long-term direction and success of the business. Working closely with senior leadership and key partners, the team is responsible for developing, refining, and facilitating the execution of GBS’s strategic plans. Additionally, the team orchestrates strategic planning cycles, monitors key initiatives for business impact, and embeds best-in-class planning, agile, and continuous improvement practices across the organization. The strategy team acts as a connective thread across departments, enabling cohesive execution and driving forward momentum on GBS’s highest-priority goals.

 

We are seeking a strategic, execution-focused individual contributor to join the GBS Strategy team as a Senior Associate.

 

What you’ll do: 

Strategic planning

  • Support the development and ongoing management of GBS’s multi-year strategy
  • Assist in the annual planning process by coordinating the intake of new requests, validating key details, providing and tracking status updates, and communicating progress to stakeholders

 

Performance measurement

  • Oversee ongoing tracking and reporting of key performance indicators that measure business performance across the value chain
  • Measure project outcomes to assess value realization and inform the potential for further strategic prioritization and investment  

 

Practice models

  • Drive the practices for key operational models and methodologies (e.g., agile, continuous improvement), including aligning roles and functions to these processes, establishing best practices, and enabling ongoing development of personnel operating within the models; make updates to operating models as business needs evolve. 

 

Research and strategy support

  • Monitor industry trends and perform research, leveraging both public and non-public sources
  • Gather, analyze, and synthesize quantitative and qualitative findings to inform strategic planning and executive-level communications
  • Engage in ad-hoc strategy and research projects identified by the team or senior leadership

 

What you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in roles consisting of strategy development and execution, project management, product ownership, agile delivery, and/or market research and benchmarking
  • Project and process management skills, including a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Collaborative work style with an ability to work cross functionally and effectively interact with and earn the trust of peers and leaders
  • Strong communication skills, including experience in developing C-suite presentations and communicating with senior leadership
  • The ability to be a self-starter, with a keen sense of ownership, commitment to the work, and passion to deliver outcomes that advance the business of GBS
  • Structured, hypothesis-driven problem-solving that addresses roadblocks or increases efficiency, with an eye and openness for innovative or unconventional solutions
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills for analyzing business problems and developing strategic recommendations
  • An innate curiosity and desire to learn
  • Experience in financial services, insurance experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or advanced degree a plus
  • Proficiency in using Office 365, specifically in working with SharePoint, analyzing and manipulating data in Excel, and creating executive-ready presentations and memos; familiarity with collaboration and agile tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Jira, Figma, and Canva a plus

Pay Transparency

Salary range: $110,000-$130,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No 

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
