Senior Associate, Marketing Business Planning Manager

Role Overview:
New York Life Marketing is seeking a digitally fluent, detail-oriented, and execution-focused Business Planning Manager to support the structured planning of complex, cross-functional programs—many of which include the delivery of digital products.
Reporting to the Head of Marketing Business Planning, this role works at the intersection of business strategy and delivery execution. You’ll work alongside subject matter experts to translate program strategies into defined work scopes, build delivery plans, proactively identify decisions and tradeoffs, and help keep work on track across business, product, data, engineering, and corporate teams.
This is a hands-on coordination and planning role—ideal for someone who is organized, proactive, and eager to help teams move work forward efficiently and effectively.
What You’ll Do:
Program Planning
- Support the translation of strategic goals into clear work deliverables and execution plans—including work breakdowns, roadmap, delivery plans, team roles, and measurable outcomes.
- Help organize and structure cross-functional workstreams to ensure alignment with goals, feasibility, and timing.
- Collaborate with Business, Product Managers, Product Owners, Design, Engineering and Data leads to build clear, actionable plans for associated digital products and capabilities.
- Develop and maintain integrated delivery plans that coordinate dependencies, timing, and key milestones.
- Proactively identify decisions needed and tradeoffs. Partner with peers and leaders to facilitate required discussions.
- Track execution by monitoring progress, surfacing risks or blockers, facilitating mitigation discussions, and documenting decisions and next steps.
Digital & Product Fluency
- Apply working knowledge of Agile workflows and digital product delivery stages.
- Coordinate across product, design, data, and engineering to ensure delivery work stays aligned with business needs.
- Track digital deliverables to ensure they are clearly defined, scoped, and integrated into overall plans and timelines.
- Participate in team discussions to help prepare for upcoming sprints, support MVP scoping, and align on planning details.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Support
- Build collaborative working relationships with team members across Business, Product, Engineering, Data, and other corporate functions.
- Help facilitate working sessions, follow up on action items, and bring clarity to planning documents and next steps.
- Support the operating cadence for planning check-ins, risk reviews, and status updates.
- Keep team members aligned by maintaining up-to-date plans, documentation, and shared trackers.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in program coordination, digital delivery support, or business operations.
- Comfortable supporting complex programs that involve digital workstreams and cross-functional teams.
- Familiar with product and delivery concepts like Agile, backlogs, sprints, MVPs, design, etc.
- Strong communicator—organized, reliable, and able to follow through on plans and action items.
- Skilled at using project tools like Workfront and Jira.
- Curious, coachable, and excited to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $108,000 - $130,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
