Senior Associate, Office of the Chief Executive Officer
Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week

This team plays a crucial role in partnering with key business stakeholders across New York Life to ensure robust governance and operational support. Transparency in our Market Data & Tech Contracts, Use Cases, and Use Rights is essential for driving our governance program's success. The Senior Associate provides direct support to New York Life Investments’ (NYLIM) Chief of Staff by conducting research and analysis, drafting communications, coordinating special projects, and more. The role offers a unique opportunity to work in the Executive Office at a top global asset manager and gain valuable industry experience and exposure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directly support the Chief of Staff in her role, including:
- Performing analysis and desk-based research
- Drafting select, brief communications for a variety of audiences
- Serving in a coordination role for special projects; regularly updating the Chief of Staff and escalating issues to her when appropriate
- Designing and updating templates/trackers to ensure organization of the Office of the CEO
- Draft materials -- briefings, slides, and scripts -- and provide coordination support for the CEO’s internal and external engagements
- Internal engagements include all employee Town Halls, senior leader meetings, Management Committee meetings/offsites, all employee social gatherings and other presentations/meetings
- External engagements include client meetings, conferences, and industry leader and strategic partner meetings
- Serve as the Executive Office point person for employee engagement programming, incident management / business continuity planning, functional org charts, and Executive Office budget, keeping the Chief of Staff updated and escalating issues appropriately
- Work in close partnership with the Chief of Staff, CEO’s Executive Assistant, Human Resources, Communications, Distribution, Strategy, Events, and Finance in fulfilling the above
- Provide ad-hoc support to other NYLIM Executives on other special projects, as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; ~5 years experience in the asset management or financial services industry
- Keen interest in learning about asset management and gaining a better understanding for how a CEO’s office operates
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; strives to consistently deliver high-quality work in a timely manner
- Handles stress/pressure well; enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to think through all of the required steps – large and small – to see a deliverable through to successful execution
- Quick learner; able to identify how to present information/proposals to senior leaders to make the most effective use of their time
- Highly flexible and proactive and “can-do” attitude; keeps the best interest of the CEO in mind at all times
- Exhibits professionalism and sound judgment; recognition that their behavior is a direct reflection of the CEO
Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $85,500-$110,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
