Senior Associate, Operational Compliance


Position Summary:
The Worksite team offers Employer and Employee paid benefits in the business market. This position is highly collaborative and requires interfacing with our internal and external business partners.

The Senior Associate - Operational Compliance role will be responsible for supporting New York Life's organization with its suite of Employee’s Whole Life and group Employee Benefits products.  Working under the direction of the Chief Operations & Systems Officer, the Senior Associate role will be key in managing incoming proposal requests, the Worksite email inbox, and monitoring Third Party Administrator (TPA) compliance and reporting.

The compliance role includes, but is not limited to: Records Retention Coordinator, Security Liaison, Market Conduct Representative, FATCA, regulatory complaint handling and coordinating all state contract filing. The position will also be responsible for providing Operations support for new products, regulatory tracking, state reporting and documenting procedures. This position will maintain an environment that enhances and promotes operational and regulatory compliance. 


• Manage/Supervise all incoming Request for Proposals (RFP) submissions for the Financial Underwriting team including large and small groups plan offerings, including back up of Operations Associate when needed
• Daily management of the email inbox, including back up when needed
• Monitor TPA Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
• Market Conduct, Records Retention Coordinator, FATCA, Regulatory Complaints
• Security Liaison and system co-lead
• Perform Quality Reviews of TPA processing including issue, service and claims
• Prepare and coordinate state contract form filings to ensure completed timely and accurately through System for Electronic Rate and Form Filing (SERFF)
• Perform Quality Reviews of TPA processing including issue, service and claims
• Document both internal and external department procedure manuals
• Learn and maintain a strong understanding of New York Life’s Worksite Products
• Maintain Sharepoint Inventory database for records retention including forms and correspondence
• Assist with content creation for the Worksite Square space on the New York Life intranet
• Complete special projects, as assigned and meet time sensitive deadlines

Candidate Qualifications:
• College degree preferred
• Minimum 3+years of experience with state insurance department filings including policy form filings preferred.
• Flexible self-starter and quick learner with good judgment, analytical skills and creative problem solving, as well as confident decision-making with reasonable business risks.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, a high degree of professionalism, and the ability to work in a complex and dynamic environment.
