Senior Associate - Business Analyst

Role Overview:

As a Senior Associate, Business Analyst within the MyNYL Program (Finance Technology), you will serve as a key partner to Finance, Engineering, and Cloud Services, driving modernization initiatives and enabling efficient, secure, and client-focused digital experiences. This role will support the MyNYL program by analyzing requirements, improving workflows, and ensuring successful system implementations across critical modules such as Beneficiary ECS, Loan Request, and Dividend Withdrawal. With a focus on process efficiency, data accessibility, and governance, you will bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, contributing to NYL’s ongoing digital transformation.

What You’ll Do:

As a Senior Associate, Business Analyst in the MyNYL Program, your responsibilities will include:

- Partnering with stakeholders across Finance, Middleware Engineering, and Cloud Services to gather and document detailed business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
- Translating business needs into actionable user stories and business requirement documents (BRDs), particularly for cloud migration and AWS deployment workflows.
- Facilitating workshops and interviews to align cross-functional teams on MyNYL’ s evolving architecture and service catalog.
- Analyzing workflows across MyNYL’ s pre-login and post-login experiences to identify process gaps and recommend enhancements.
- Supporting development, testing, and deployment of new features, validating solution designs during UAT, and providing post-implementation support.
- Acting as a subject matter expert in life insurance products and digital servicing platforms, while staying current on modernization efforts such as personalization and API integration.

What You’ll Bring:

- Familiarity with Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.

- Familiarity with NYL products and applications, especially MyNYL.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Visio, Jira, SQL, and New Relic.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

- Proven ability to translate business needs into detailed requirements and user stories.

- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the insurance industry, preferably in Life Insurance.

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, Information Systems, or related field.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with Data Science or AI capabilities

- Experience with cloud-native architecture and deployment tools (e.g., AWS EKS, Harness, Terraform).

Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $82,500-$140,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No 

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
