The Risk Policy & Governance Senior Associate will be responsible for the successful support and maturing of the Internal & External Risk Incident Management program, which includes assisting users and stakeholders of the program, as well as supporting and maintaining the program tool. This role will help create standard and ad-hoc reporting to aid in Risk Incident reporting for senior management. In addition, this role will help NYL to meet its obligations as a member of an industry loss data exchange by participating in Risk Incident information sharing. This role will also provide general support for the governance, oversight and rollout of other Operational Risk governance programs such as Issues Management, Key Risk Indicators and Emerging Risks.

 

Responsibilities:
• Support and mature the Internal & External Risk Incident Management program, which includes assisting users and stakeholders of the program, as well as supporting and maintaining the program tool
• Assist with creating standard and ad-hoc reporting to aid in Risk Incident reporting for senior management
• Support NYL’s obligations as a member of an industry loss data exchange
• Assist with the planning, requirements, implementation and maintenance of other Core Operational Risk Management (ORM) programs and supporting tools including Issues Management, Key Risk Indicators and Emerging Risks
• Assist with maintenance of Policies and Standards related to Core ORM Programs
• Assist with training development and delivery related to Core ORM Programs
• Assist with creation and performance of Quality Assurance reviews of Core ORM Programs
• Perform industry research for alignment to best practices
• Prepare presentations and memoranda for various levels of management
• Assist with maintenance of program documentation and intranet presence
• Liaise with and support program stakeholders across NYL
• Perform other reporting duties as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field - Risk Management, Finance, Informatin Systems/Technology, Computer Science, Economics
  • 4-5 years relevant risk management experience

• Second Line Operational Risk Management or Enterprise Risk Management
• Issues Management
• Risk Incident/Event/Loss Management
• Risk Reporting
• Risk Analysis
• Scenario Analysis experience a plus
• Strong project management and planning skills
• Strong MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word
• Strong technical skills including working with GRC Tools; ServiceNow, SharePoint, Tableau experience preferred
• Establishing Business Requirements
• Excellent organization, analytical, critical thinking skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Ability to work both independently and as a part of a broader team
• Willingness to take on new challenges
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Strong attention to detail
