Senior Associate - Corporate Communications
Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week
This position is hybrid - Tuesday - Thursday in the New York Office and Monday and Friday work from home.
Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join New York Life as a member of the Corporate Communications department. You’ll join a team that provides communication strategy, planning and execution across the company’s corporate areas. You’ll be responsible for supporting a range of internal and external communications initiatives, with an emphasis on change management communications and internal and external storytelling.
Role Responsibilities
- Assist with developing and executing communication strategies related to the company’s adoption of new technologies and ways of working to drive innovation, transformation and growth. Write and edit various communications plans and materials, including leadership messages, presentations, video scripts, and social media content.
- Draft communications to support the launch of specific technologies and capabilities across the company.
- Develop and execute communication plans to drive participation in new enterprise learning programs designed to help ensure employees have the right skills now and for the future.
- Proactively propose, source and write stories for the company’s employee intranet and external newsroom.
- Assist with, and execute on, communications deliverables for New York Life executives, including external speaking and media opportunities.
- Leverage feedback, best practices, and expertise to provide best-in-class communications support, including the testing, learning and onboarding of new GenAI capabilities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Corporate Communications, including Editorial, Corporate Design, Digital, and Employee Social Engagement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in other departments, including Human Resources, Technology, AI and Data, and more.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years of corporate communications experience, preferably in a Fortune 500 company.
- Collaborative team player with leadership presence and successful experience participating in high-profile cross-functional projects.
- Well-organized with excellent attention to detail, delivering high-quality work on time and according to expectations; flexibility to manage changing requirements with short turnaround time.
- Proactive, with strong project management skills, a demonstrated focus on consistency, and an ability to anticipate business needs.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and work under pressure.
- Strategic thinker with excellent writing, listening, presentation, and storytelling skills.
- Media relations experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or related field.
- Interest in personal finance, insurance, and/or emerging technologies a plus.
- Hybrid environment: Office Tuesday through Thursday, working from home Mondays and Fridays.

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $77,500-$132,500
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
