The Business Continuity Lead manages the business continuity planning process supporting organizations across the enterprise. This role will directly engage with the business in the development, management, testing, and continuous improvement of business continuity plans. The Business Continuity Lead drives stakeholders in the implementation of Corporate Resilience standards, processes, and procedures. The Business Continuity Lead’s overall responsibility is to reduce risk by ensuring a state of readiness to respond to any potential business disruption, impacting operations of employees, data center, worksite, or third party, including pandemics.

 

This position will leverage industry knowledge and best practices to drive implementation of necessary improvements to maintain compliance, enhance capabilities, and mature services supporting the enterprise across business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident management.

 

Responsibilities:
• The Business Continuity Lead works directly with Business Continuity Coordinators and other key stakeholders, including Risk Officers, business leaders, and Technology in the overall execution of the business continuity planning processes.
• Support Business Continuity Coordinators and organizations in the development, management, approval, testing, and continuous improvement of continuity plans.
• Support the development, approval and publication of documentation covering recovery strategies, methodologies, and solutions, policies, standards, plans, processes, and procedures.
• Share knowledge and expertise of Corporate Resilience standards, processes and procedures via education and awareness for key stakeholders.
• Hold partner organizations accountable for supporting necessary activities.
• Leverage industry knowledge, experience, standards and best practices to improve output.
• Provide input on related disaster recovery and incident management corporate standards, processes, and procedures.
• Manage recovery exercises to include planning, execution, and coordination with business stakeholders; including tabletops, walkthroughs, simulations, etc.
• Partner with responsible teams to assist with training and educational materials and programs to raise awareness, create clarity, and develop competency across the enterprise regarding business continuity, incident management, and disaster recovery.
• Manage continuous improvement processes and identify lessons learned from resilience related tests, exercises, and simulations.
• Support the integration of business continuity, incident management, and disaster recovery related tasks across supporting processes such as Change Management, Release Management, Problem Management, and PMO processes such as the Technology Service Delivery Life Cycle.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Continuity, Resiliency, Disaster Recovery, Incident Management, Crisis Management, Information Technology, or related field 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience 
  • Solid understanding of Business Continuity concepts, methodology, process, policies, standards, procedures and training material artifacts
  • Solid Business Continuity coordination and execution experience
  • Experience in assessing Business Continuity requirements at the enterprise level through assessment of many organizational Business Continuity reports
  • Experience in the Insurance or financial services industry, including knowledge of the regulatory environment
  • This individual requires strong written, verbal communication and organizational skills as they will be working on multiple projects with stakeholders across the organization
