The Strategic Relationship Marketing Manager is a core member of the New York Life Retail Annuities (RA) Channel Marketing team, responsible for the creation and execution of targeted marketing campaigns and initiatives that will broaden the base of annuity sellers and increase the sales of our strategic products.   This role focuses exclusively on a high-opportunity segment of our non-captive distribution channel -- third-party distribution (TPD).  The Strategic Relationship Marketing Manager will have end-to-end accountability for the marketing campaigns and initiatives, including initial idea generation, concept vetting, tactic development, project execution, project management, and campaign evaluation/report out.


Core responsibilities

  • Serve as marketing manager for TPD partners
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (Marketing, Sales, Relationship Management, Analytics, Research) to develop a marketing calendar and programs that increase visibility of RA, deepen advisor-wholesaler relationships, broaden our seller base, and grow sales of our products
  • Monitor campaign performance against key metrics and attainment of marketing objectives
  • Partner with Analytics and Management to draw meaningful insights from campaigns and make recommendations for ongoing adjustments/improvements
  • Maximize opportunities and touchpoints across strategic TPD partners to further the distribution of newly developed/product messaging
  • Partner with Marketing and Relationship Management to optimize RA presence at TPD partner events
  • Establish, maintain, promote, and deploy an RA Speakers Bureau
  • Maintain, promote, and deploy our proprietary practice management program and manage the development of future programs
  • Maintain content of RA Partner deck to facilitate regular TPD partnership and intra-year meetings
  • Manage monthly strategy sessions and tracking documents to keep stakeholders informed of campaign progress and recommended adjustments
  • Support ongoing BAU Channel Marketing activity, as needed



  • 7+ years of related work experience
  • Prior TPD channel marketing experience strongly preferred (relationship management or sales experience is a plus)
  • Experience with B2B marketing (financial services is strongly preferred)
  • Hands-on proficiency developing and executing marketing programs
  • Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
  • Outstanding project management skills
