Senior Associate - Full Stack Solution Architect
Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week
We’re looking for a hands-on Solution Architect to join New York Life’s Wealth Management Technology team. This is not a “whiteboard-only” architecture role — you’ll write real code, solve hard integration problems with our FinTech vendor partners, and design systems that bridge our on-prem and cloud platforms. You’ll shape the architecture that powers our Wealth Management ecosystem and ensure every solution is elegant, scalable, and secure.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on translating business vision into technical execution — a developer who loves design patterns, diagrams, and delivery in equal measure.
What You’ll Do:
Architect & Design
-
Transform business and technical requirements into conceptual and logical architecture designs.
-
Design and document end-to-end technology solutions in alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
-
Collaborate with Value Stream Architects, Engineers, and Product Owners to ensure architectural consistency and traceability from concept to deployment.
-
Facilitate design discussions, define integration strategies, and ensure cross-system alignment across applications, platforms, and services.
-
Create and maintain architectural artifacts — conceptual/logical diagrams, system design documents, and risk assessments.
-
Represent release trains at architecture and security review boards to secure approvals and drive governance compliance.
Engineer & Build
-
Develop, configure, and enhance applications using modern programming languages and frameworks.
-
Design and implement microservices using .NET Core, Entity Framework, and modern design patterns.
-
Build secure, performant RESTful APIs, leveraging authentication/authorization protocols (OAuth, JWT, SSO).
-
Write clean, testable, maintainable code across the stack (C#, Java, ReactJS, SQL Server, SSIS).
-
Implement DevSecOps best practices with Git, CI/CD, and AWS services (especially S3, ECS, Lambda, CloudFormation).
-
Conduct code reviews, mentor developers, and lead by example in technical excellence.
Influence & Lead
-
Participate in technology evaluations and propose new tools, frameworks, and standards.
-
Drive adherence to architectural best practices across teams and solutions.
-
Partner with Value Stream leadership to define future-state roadmaps and modernization initiatives.
-
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers; ensure the solution’s design integrity throughout implementation.
-
Contribute to enterprise-level architecture discussions and represent Wealth Management Technology in cross-functional forums.
What You Bring:
-
7+ years of hands-on software development experience spanning front-end and back-end technologies.
-
Demonstrated success designing and delivering cloud-native solutions in an Agile/DevSecOps environment.
-
Expertise in C#, .NET Core, ReactJS, REST APIs, SQL Server, and AWS Cloud.
-
Deep understanding of system integration, microservice architecture, and security principles.
-
Proven ability to balance architecture vision with pragmatic delivery.
-
Excellent communication and leadership skills — able to explain complex ideas simply and inspire action.
-
Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field (Master’s preferred).
-
Industry certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Certified Developer, etc.) are a plus.
