This Human Resources generalist role will support our New York Life Investment Management business and boutiques. The incumbent will act as first point of contact on numerous day-to-day HR matters, as well as assist our HR Business Partners in guiding business leaders through organizational design and staffing decisions and guiding managers and staff through organizational change. This role requires the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in an appropriate manner, an aptitude for analyzing and presenting data, the ability to prioritize multiple critical deliverables with exceptional attention while also meeting strict deadlines.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Support assigned client group and facilitate the implementation of HR initiatives and processes including: promotions, compensation planning, performance management, employee engagement survey, talent management/succession planning, recruiting and on-boarding, and employee relations
  • Liaise with HR functional experts as needed regarding employee and manager matters and other HR initiatives
  • Serve as a first responder for employee relations issues and work with managers on performance and correct action documentation; document employee issues and related activities as required; escalate issues as appropriate
  • Ensure that a fair and consistent approach to policies and procedures is being applied, while promoting a positive and productive culture and minimizing risks.
  • Remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities with promptness, efficiency and ease.
  • Provide support and investigate complaints of discrimination, sexual harassment and other workplace matters.
  • Work with managers and employees to handle accommodation requests.
  • Coordinate and project manage workstreams as required within HR and client groups.



  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience
  • Excellent relationship building skills; ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization, as well as with external parties
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills with demonstrated patience, tact and respect
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and diffuse employee related issues, concerns, situations
  • Flexibility in a fast-paced corporate environment, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Maintains an objective point of view and remains calm in complex situations
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
