We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to join the Distribution Analytics team, within New York Life Investments’ BI & Data Analytics Group. The candidate will be a key part the Distribution Analytics team that is tasked with collaborating and building out relationships across our Sales Organization, identifying opportunities to improve our existing analyses and build out new analyses to help our sales team drive business through the use of data.

 

This position provides an opportunity to expand upon a data professionals experience with the investment management industry in a results-oriented and challenging environment while at the same time building out meaningful business relationships across our sales organization.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Own Client Segmentation Process – update client segments on a quarterly basis, identify and implement opportunities for improving segmentation and expansion across various focus firms
  • Develop and Provide:
    • Sales Territory Construction Analyses – present options to improve existing territory construction, potential territory changes impact of respective changes
    • Sales Territory Performance Analyses
    • Ad-hoc analyses requested by Sales Management Team
  • Maintain and Develop
    • SQL to calculate KPI Metrics and Scorecards for Sales Team across trade, AUM and CRM data
  • Work with Internal Advisor Consultants and Sales Desk Managers (IACs, Sales Desk) on various data requests and scorecards. Train and support IACs on how to leverage data via self serve dashboards
  • Partner with Data Governance and CRM teams to ensure BI & Data Analytics data sets remained aligned with changes made to our CRM and Client data platforms

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 5+ years of related experience in a data focused role within the asset management industry
  • In-depth knowledge of Intermediary Distribution space within asset management industry
  • Highly proficient in SQL, Excel, VBA and Salesforce
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and quantitative skills, with exceptional attention to detail and ability to synthesize data into observations / recommendations
  • Strong interpersonal skills interacting with various constituencies within the firm
  • Self-starter with urgency, personal responsibility and accountability
  • Results and process-oriented with a proven ability to multi-task and execute on deliverables in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and maintain high standards
