New York Life's Insurance & Agency Group is seeking a highly qualified individual for the role of Senior Associate, Strategic Solutions. This is a unique opportunity to have a significant impact on the future growth and operations of the company through the development of key strategic capabilities for New York Life to utilize new sources of health data to enhance the customer experience, increase efficiency of operations, and improve risk assessment. The ideal candidate will have competency and experience in using data-driven solutions to support strategy execution, working in cross-functional teams, and outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, preferably with healthcare industry experience.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and operationalizing new strategic solutions and capabilities to improve customer experience and business operations in collaboration with Field Service, Agency and Underwriting stakeholders
  • Optimize data retrieval processes by analyzing and solving for drop-off in consumer behavior, inefficiencies in data supply chains and operations
  • Proactively take initiative to achieve results for program goals and find opportunities to innovate
  • Perform data analysis to support the identification and prioritization of business requirements and rules
  • Support decisions with key insights, data analysis and effective presentations of important factors driving the program management
  • Develop presentations and data visualizations to synthesize and communicate complex data analysis to various constituencies, and management
  • Work independently and follow through and complete assigned projects and prioritized tasks

 

Qualifications:

People and Process skills

  • Self-motivated with very strong interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a collaborative style
  • Ability to drive the realization of project goals and completion of time-bound deliverables
  • Ability to stay organized and multi-task with excellent follow-up and problem-solving skills
  • Effective judgment, critical thinking, time management, communication and writing skills
  • Broad knowledge of the insurance industry and business operations is a strong plus

 

Technical skills:

  • Requires strong quantitative skills and high attention to details
  • Deep knowledge of Excel and advanced PowerPoint skills required;
  • Experience with process mapping and creating process flow diagrams (e.g. Visio)  
  • Expertise in extracting data from databases using SQL and Tableau preferred.
  • Experience utilizing data visualizations techniques and tools, including business intelligence platforms

 

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in roles across consulting, data analysis, and program management
  • Hands-on experience with conducting research and analysis and optimize operational processes
  • Hands-on experience analyzing and working with healthcare data is preferred
  • Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle and Agile framework / methodologies  preferred

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
