The Investment Analytics Director will focus on developing analytics that will help support the long term investment portfolio strategy and execution. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Collecting and analyzing data pertaining to performance attribution, risk exposures & factors, stress testing, NII projections/sensitivity analysis and establish a feedback loop to ensure this information is utilized to evolve our portfolio strategy
  • Develop a benchmark framework that incorporates all asset classes that is utilized to inform portfolio management decisions, instruct portfolio strategy, and enable transparent reporting to the Board and senior management
  • Evaluate impact of external factors and market dynamics on the portfolio and assess potential opportunities to increase returns or manage risks
  • Perform analysis on new strategies developed by asset managers and portfolio managers to determine impact on the portfolio strategy and viability in the context of various balance sheet or business constraints
  • Coordinate the deployment of investment analytical tools to ensure they are designed to meet the needs of users, and coordinate enhancements as required based on changes in the environment
  • Work closely with the various business, ALM, risk and finance teams to incorporate portfolio strategies into broader models that are used for strategy development, risk/stress testing, earnings projections, etc
  • Proactive idea generation of how we can incorporate new frameworks and modeling techniques to improve portfolio evaluation and performance

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or higher in a quantitative/technical field
  • 10+ years of experience in the fields of Financial Engineering, asset/portfolio modeling at a financial institution
  • Deep technical expertise necessary to research asset management concepts and market models to develop and improve analytical approaches and methodologies through understanding of capital markets
  • Strong foundations in financial engineering, asset pricing, economic modeling. Strong programming skills preferable
  • Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills leading to outside the box thinking
  • Understanding of insurance products and accounting frameworks is desirable but not required
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to explain technical concepts to less-technical constituencies

 

We will be working on a hybrid work schedule, 3 days in the office and 2 days from home when we return to onsite.
