The Sr. Project Manager will be part of the Insurance Solutions group PMO, supporting key initiatives that span across multiple business units & product lines like Retail Life, Long Term Care, Individual Disability and Group insurance. The individual will be responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of an entire projectfrom Initiation to Close. They will also be responsible for determining the purpose of a project, communicating with clients about their needs, securing funding, budget tracking and planning the project’s final release. The ideal candidate will possess leadership capabilities that contribute to motivating and inspiring team members to successfully deliver on business initiatives.


Responsibilities:
• Lead and coordinate multiple projects by providing unified oversight, ensuring transparency to keystakeholders, and driving successful results.
• Prioritize project work and delegate responsibilities to team members, if necessary.
• For each project, work with senior management and key stakeholders to understand the related businessstrategies, objectives, and priorities, and ensure alignment in supporting and enabling the business strategy.
• Identify and manage project inter-dependencies that may not be known or identifiable at the project level, and lead efforts to develop approaches for managing such issues.
• Assess and manage risk within projects and make strategic recommendations for changes to current and future project plans and overall requirements to meet organizational needs.
• Coordinate and collaborate with other areas of the organization on project plans, dependencies, risk, and budget.
• Evaluate project timeline, cost/budget to ensure the project is meeting business expectations.
• Manage relationships and communicate project information to all stakeholders to a level appropriate to their needs. Provide guidance and influence others, internally and externally, including senior leaders and/or third parties.
• Establish successful long term business relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Responsible for making and driving significant decisions that impact the overall delivery of the initiative.
• Maintain full ownership of large projects, processes, and vendor management.
• Assess, and quickly diagnose and resolve workflow issues, while also identifying improvement needs.
• Adapt function/business strategy plans and policies to address service and/or operational challenges, and make decisions that impact the teams’ ability to achieve objectives.


Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years’ experience
- Insurance/Healthcare experience preferred, with knowledge and understanding of the Insurance Industry and Insurance products and business processes.
- Certifications in Long Term Care, Life, and PMP (Project Management Professional) a plus
- Mastery of the Project Management Methodology & Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Experience with PMI/Agile/Scrum/Six Sigma practices
- Expertise in MS Project, JIRA, MS Office, SharePoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to execute strategies and track and measure results
- Ability to clearly communicate expectations
- Ability to lead and influence cross functional project teams
- Proven negotiating and consensus building skills
- Ability to work effectively and achieve results in a highly matrixed environment
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task is required
