New York Life is looking for a results driven Senior SAP ABAP HR Developer with extensive experience in bridging the gap between business and technology and apply highly complex technical solutions to key business initiatives. The Developer will design, develop, and support application solutions with focus on SAP ABAP HR and Payroll.  They will also design, develop and re-engineer highly complex application components and integrate with third party vendor applications using multiple platforms like IPaaS, such as Dell Boomi and Mulesoft.



  • Work with business leaders, to define requirements for new programs and systems.
  • Analyze business requirements, review existing programs, define the solution, and translate that into detailed technical designs.
  • Perform complex system design, develop programs, debug and trouble-shoot technical activities in Employee Cloud Payroll and Success Factors to complete projects.
  • Responsible for development and ongoing maintenance/enhancements of Employee Cloud Payroll and Success Factors.
  • Create specialized reports for SAP modules and custom ABAP applications using ABAP programming language and Dell Boomi.
  • Troubleshoot, debug and correct complex SAP HR and Payroll problems by using ABAP programming language.


Required Skills

  • At least 8 -10 years of hands-on development experience in SAP ABAP HR
  • ABAP Objects- SAP Enhancements, Customer Exit, User Exit, BADIs
  • ALV Reports, Batch Data Communication and Processing and LSMW
  • Module Pool programming, Smart Forms, SAP Script and adobe forms
  • Integration Technologies - RFCs, BAPIs, ALE/IDOC, and OData services
  • Experience in Payroll control center, knowledge of payroll functions and schemas.
  • Experience in working on SAP upgrade projects
  • Familiar with SAP Tax process, found in transaction PU19.
  • Understanding of SAP functional requirement, conversion into Technical design and development using ABAP language for Report, Interface, Conversion, Enhancement and Forms in implementation or support projects.
  • Familiar with Web Service development/WSDL interfaces, ABAP Webdynpro and OData Services
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and conceptual skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of processes.
  • Quick Learner and ability to perform POC’s involving cutting edge technologies.


Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of Success Factors and Dell Boomi a plus.
  • Knowledge of Integration with Identity management application with Success Factors or SAP.
  • Understanding of Point to Point integration from Success Factors to Employee Central Payroll.
  • Knowledge of Fiori and S/4 HANA
  • Experience in upgrading certificates on integration objects
  • Knowledge of Unix Shell Scripting and Java Script
