The Insurance Solutions, Service and Marketing (ISSM) Data and Analytics Team (DnA) is seeking to hire a Program Manager/Service Insight Team Lead (PM/SITL) with a proven track record of success.  As a member of the DnA Team, this role will interface directly with NYL’s Life and Annuities business customers (Service customers) to document service requests, perform cost benefit analysis, prioritize requests within the overall DnA backlog and manage the successful execution of the end deliverable.  The PM/SITL will be expected to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and drive the execution teams to success through end-to-end facilitation of defined initiatives utilizing appropriate methodologies (waterfall / agile).  Communication and status reporting to senior leadership, both within the DnA Team as well as end customers, will be a significant component of this role.


  • Develop a target operating model to incorporate Service customer initiatives intake, tracking and reporting processes within the current DnA operating model
  • Facilitate the DnA service request intake process of the Service customers
  • Document high level business requirements from the Service customers and perform Q&A to confirm clear understanding of the requests; coordinate handoff to DnA business analysis for detailed requirement development
  • In conjunction with the Service customer, perform cost benefit analysis to assist with initiative justification and business prioritization 
  • Partner with DnA Team peers to prioritize Service customer requests with overall DnA backlog
  • Communicate delivery expectations and cost estimates to Service customers and manage overall deliverable re-prioritizations as needed
  • Develop project plans / milestone tracking for Service customer initiatives, inclusive of interdependencies
  • Produce status reporting documentation for communication to both the DnA Team and Service customers
  • Maintain RAID logs and coordinate risk/issue management activities as necessary to resolve/mitigate roadblocks of deliverable expectations
  • Facilitate working sessions as necessary to drive end deliverables
  • Support and manage any ad hoc DnA project requests as required
  • Support and/or champion process and tool improvement efforts to strengthen and build upon existing DnA capabilities by continuously improving current functions and developing new capabilities as appropriate:
    • Enforce and evangelize best practices
    • Works with the key stakeholders assigned to the initiatives to ensure the right work is being done at the right time, and that the work is ready for the team(s)
    • Educate Service customers on standardized tools to improve initiative delivery
    • Support the collaboration within the DnA Team, Service customers and any PMO teams within New York Life involved in any part of the initiative deliverables


  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 8+ years of relevant resource and/or project management experience within the Insurance/Finance Industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, independent thinking, and ability to exercise prudent judgment, accomplished at influencing decision-making and negotiations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with preparing and delivering clear and concise presentations to senior leadership
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Basic understanding of products sold within the Life Insurance/Annuities services industry is preferred
  • Project Management professional (PMP) and/or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification a plus
  • Skilled in project software: SharePoint, MS Project, MS Office, and Visio. Knowledge of Agile tools such as JIRA, TFS/Azure or Rally preferred.

  • This position will report to the VP, ISSM - Data and Analytics Team
  • Position is based in the New York City headquarters / Lebanon, NJ area
