The HR SAP/ SuccessFactors Solution Architect is a role within our Corporate Architecture team. This role requires

a proven track record as a skilled HR Domain Solution Architect and specific business application and business

stakeholder facing experience. This role oversees the architectural design, capability description and

recommended solutions and enhancements within the domain and enterprise architecture landscape. This role

leads high level solution reviews, presents proposed solutions before the appropriate security and risk governance

bodies and makes strategic solution architecture recommendations for enhancements or replacement of SAP HCM  / SuccessFactors Applications that align with the Enterprise Architecture Governance and Risk Board.

 

The Corporate Technology Architecture HR Solution Architect leads and participates in high level conceptual architecture design activities and POCs based on business stakeholder requirements and works closely with the application solution delivery teams and Security and Risk team to ensure that proposed solutions meet NYL architecture best practices and standards. The Solution Architect works with cross-technology technical and business teams. This role collaborates with other Domain Architects and Project Managers, and advises project teams on technical end-state, estimates and required outcomes in terms of application, infrastructure, data, security, network, etc.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transforms requirements into conceptual architecture design documents
  • Designs technology solutions and goals for a specific project and/or infrastructural area, in collaboration with Domain Architect and Business Analysts
  • Works with and across Domain and Application Architects (including Business, Data, Information and SOA) to ensure that a solution architecture aligns and is consistent with both program/project/system design guidelines and enterprise architecture standards
  • Understands and augments the conceptual architecture and design to address integrations being applied across businesses, applications, technologies and services
  • Facilitates solution design discussions for current and future state
  • Participates as a member of the project team to ensure that the optimal design solution is understood and adopted as part of the intake workflow process
  • Provides technical guidance to project teams in their area of expertise and/or leads teams to complete projects specific to their domain
  • Generates conceptual/logical architectures, system documents and risk assessments
  • Responsible for ensuring the recommended design is followed through to implementation through reviews of high-level and detailed design documentation
  • Proposes new technical standards to other Architects throughout NYL Technology
  • Participates in the evaluation of new technologies relative to their area
  • Participates in business, data, application and infrastructure planning, providing insight into the future of their area of technology
  • Participates in the development of roadmaps related to their area(s) of expertise
  • Creates project design artifacts to support the implementation of the future architectural vision
  • Represents project teams at architecture and security review boards and assists in securing required approvals

 

Education/Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and/or equivalent work experience
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in the SAP/SuccessFactors space
  • Certification in SAP HCM / SuccessFactors modules is a plus
  • AWS certification training and experience, certification preferred
  • TOGAF Enterprise Architecture Certification preferred

 

  • Previous Experience
  • 10-12+ years of relevant experience within described areas of expertise
  • Cloud Platform and service integration models
  • Data management and data model design experience, including big data architecture

 

Required Skills/Knowledge

  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of the current and future technology architecture, including the inter-operability of technologies, within their area of expertise
  • Advanced level of expertise in own discipline and knowledge of related disciplines
  • Builds expertise in own domain while also developing knowledge of other domains
  • Up-to-date knowledge of leading-edge technologies and how it can be applied to own area
  • Understanding of architecture documentation methodologies
  • Solid understanding of architectural design patterns specifically around integration, mobile, database and solution design
  • Proven understanding of SDLC, including Agile and Test-driven methodologies
  • Basic understanding of messaging infrastructure and service-oriented architecture
  • Strong understanding of open source platform and tools that could form building block of solution design
  • Good understanding of various cloud offerings – SAAS/ PAAS / IAAS
  • Basic understanding of Internet security and messaging protocols – Oauth, SAML, REST, JSON
  • Basic knowledge of UI Web Stack that includes Microsoft ASP.NET, C#, AngularJS
  • Basic understanding of both Relational and NoSQL databases
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders as well as solution developers and architects
  • Strong HR business capability, solutions knowledge and integration components
  • Provides guidance and training to other IT colleagues in their area of expertise
  • Interprets business challenges, identifies trends and recommends best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to tailor communication to the target audience to achieve desired results
  • Proven experienced in in the following: Performance Management, Compensation, Recruiting & Career & Succession solutions
  • Demonstrable experience successfully leading and managing multiple large-scale implementations
  • Must have a strong inclination towards and preferable experience with “building” digital solutions from scratch with emphasis of consumer grade user experience.
  • Experience & Expertise is SuccessFactors modules covering one or many of the following modules: EC, LMS, Succession & Career Dev, Performance, Recruitment & Compensation
  • Experience with bi-directional SAP HR / SuccessFactors interfaces and SF standard connectors

 

Technical Skills – HR Platforms – Integration – Cloud

  • Strong technical foundation including; Advanced structured programming – e.g. Java, etc., understanding of RDMS concepts and structures, knowledge of SQL, structured system analysis and design methods
  • Direct experience with SuccessFactors and SAP cloud Platforms supporting HR business capabilities (Application Design, architecture)
  • Establish best practices and coding standards and identify patterns for reuse
  • Experience in architecting data warehousing, business automation / RPA, mobile, AI recruiting data mining) and integration designs.
  • Proven track record of driving innovation and legacy system modernization
