Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the preparation and review of various NAIC requirements of the quarterly/annual statutory financial statements, including financial statement pages, cashflow and note disclosures for multiple legal entities.
  • Preparation of various aspects of the Company’s annual statutory audited financial statements
  • Responsible for the oversight of the team’s Wdesk environment, including supporting enhancements.
  • Completion of quarterly controller’s book schedules, including analysis and commentary
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with internal controls and MAR/SOX requirements.
  • Perform basic statutory accounting research and analysis, as necessary
  • Collaborate, partner, and build working relationships with our co-sourcing partner and business contacts.
  • Assist with special projects

 

Requirements:

  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance preferred; Master’s Degree desirable but not required
  • At least 5-7 years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of Statutory Accounting Principles (SSAPs) and statutory financial statements
  • Should have a general understanding of life insurance and accident and health businesses
  • Strong understanding of financial controls
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Wings and Wdesk is a plus
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills

 

 

Salary range: $90,000-$135,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No
