The Senior Associate will report directly to the Corporate Vice President in charge of Variable Universal Life Product Development within Life Products. The position will be mainly responsible for supporting efforts on the investment division platform on the product as well as the illustration systems. The Senior Associate will also assist with resolution on inforce product issues and regulatory requirements and any other product development efforts that arise.


To be successful in this role, the individual must have an interest to learn, high-level of accuracy, strong organizational skills, problem solving abilities, and attention to detail. The role also requires effective communication and collaboration with others across the organization, including Service, Office of the General Counsel (OGC), Technology, and Finance.


Primary responsibilities in support of VUL product development related tasks/projects include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing additions, fund name/subadvisor changes, and closures related to the investment division platform
  • Working closely with the Variable Annuity team to scout suitable investment divisions for addition to the platform
  • Supporting efforts on the NYLIS illustration system on the product, including regulatory changes, potential new sales concepts, and performance reporting features
  • Collaborating with Morningstar on regulatory and usability enhancements to the Investment Proposal Tool on Agency Portal
  • Liaising with various groups across the organization on product efforts, including NYLIS, OGC, Technology Admin, Service, and Correspondence
  • Directing any product efforts to comply with recent regulation on life products, both inforce and new sales



  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience, with an understanding of life insurance products, specifically VUL products
  • Some experience with investments is highly desired (current FINRA Series 6/7 registration preferred but not required)
  • Intermediate knowledge with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) software, as well as investment performance reporting software such as Morningstar
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required; ability to clearly define business requirements to colleagues/managers within the department and across functions.
