This position is for the Vice President, IT Finance, supporting the enterprise Information Technology Department. Lead all financial analysis and budgeting activities in accordance with GAAP and other internal accounting rules, company policy and best practice, while maintaining the highest level of control, integrity and analytical rigor.

 

  • Responsible for the finance function that oversees technology spending company wide, contains/reduces costs while funding new infrastructure and other technology initiatives. 
  • Understanding technology run costs by mapping labor and non-labor resources and contracts to run services
  •  Act as a business partner to technology, and establish close partnerships with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and his/her team.  Be an integral part of the technology decision making process for all things that will impact/influence technology costs and future spending and investments.
  •  Serve as a key member of the Technology Leadership team in developing and implementing strategic and annual financial plans. Act as a thought leader in providing analytical insight and perspective to the CIO, Tech COO, and respective leadership teams.
  • Ensure the fiscal integrity through the enhancement and management of accounting systems and controls. Monitor controls and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and produce timely, accurate and insightful management reports, with performance indicators and metrics, to support senior management decision making and execution. Monitor and track all expenses and saves related to the IT projects. Perform financial and portfolio reviews of all technology project investments and technology spend to advance the strategic initiative to shift spending from “run the business” to “grow the business”. Develop business cases for technology investments.
  • Develop multi-year views of technology investments and implications to the overall NYL projection of earnings, pricing, and dividends (understanding Cash, GAAP and STAT implications).
  • Develop and maintain monthly budget/forecast to actual reporting, technology allocation methodology, Tech/Finance resource effort financial models and in partnership with technology, finance and business leaders, annual business plans and multi year forecasts.
  • Maintain and monitor internal control systems. Manage the SOX process for IT Finance and coordinate both internal and external audits for the department.
  • Direct, develop and manage staff (both insourced and co-sourced), including providing coaching and training, setting goals, evaluating performance, planning staffing assignments and development, and making and approving people management decisions (e.g., recruitment, promotions, terminations and salary changes).

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Identifies and resolves problems across businesses and corporate IT finance function areas. Has responsibility for making and managing decisions that contribute to the business plan and performance within IT, as well as influence technology investment decisions.
  • Manages financial reporting, budget review and expense management for IT.
  • Frequent contact with IT and Financial Senior Leadership Teams. Frequent contact with business and finance executives with respect to technology finances. Communicate with outside parties on financial compliance and management reporting issues, as well as interface with outside vendors.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience.
  • Strong academic credentials including an undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or a relevant field; an MBA or Other Graduate degree and/or CFA/CPA are desirable
  • Strong Financial Planning and Analytical skills
  • Applies in-depth understanding of the Company and the industry to impact performance within IT
  • Deep understanding of IT’s financial functions and an understanding of technology and how it relates to the business
  • Working knowledge of industry standard Value Stream organizations and leadership in developing in Tableau, Apptio and SAP environments plus

Salary range: $245,000 - $290,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No
