Vice President of Engineering
We are seeking a Vice President of Engineering to join our leadership team and help shape the future of our technology organization. This leader will be responsible for introducing and institutionalizing engineering excellence and release management practices that are currently not in place, with the goal of driving quality, consistency, and reliability across the enterprise.
The VP of Engineering will play a critical role in building scalable processes, elevating operational rigor, and ensuring that our technology organization can deliver with speed, reliability, and business alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering Process Establishment
- Design and implement core engineering practices that enable disciplined software development, testing, and deployment.
- Define and drive standards for code quality, version control, peer review, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD).
- Create mechanisms for measuring engineering effectiveness and quality outcomes.
- Release Management Practices
- Build and formalize release management frameworks to ensure predictability, safety, and consistency in software delivery.
- Introduce governance and controls around release readiness, change management, and post-release validation.
- Collaborate with product and business teams to align release processes with organizational priorities and timelines.
- Business Reliability & Resilience
- Lead initiatives to strengthen system reliability, uptime, and incident response.
- Implement proactive monitoring, root cause analysis, and recovery practices to minimize business disruption.
- Partner with operations to embed resiliency and continuity practices at every layer of the technology stack.
- Strategic Leadership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CIO and senior leadership, aligning technology practices with business objectives.
- Mentor engineering leaders, instilling a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Evaluate emerging tools and methods to evolve engineering and release practices in line with industry standards.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience, including executive-level roles.
- Demonstrated success in building and institutionalizing engineering and release management practices in organizations undergoing modernization or transformation.
- Strong knowledge of software engineering, DevOps, site reliability engineering (SRE), and quality assurance frameworks.
- Proven ability to design, implement, and scale operational processes that enable high-quality, reliable delivery.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $250,000 to $300,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
