Role Overview:
The Associate New Business Concierge plays a critical role in supporting our Retail Life Third Party Distribution (also known publicly as Advanced Markets Network or AMN). This unit offers New York Life’s life insurance products—such as whole life, universal life, term, and linked-benefit policies—primarily through independent brokerage general agencies (BGAs) and high-net-worth-focused producers.
This role is responsible for delivering best-in-class service and operational coordination throughout the full life cycle of new business, from case submission through policy delivery and commission payment. Success in this role requires a strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex, fast-moving processes while maintaining proactive communication across internal teams and external partners.
You’ll act as a key liaison across our operational areas, internal stakeholders, and distribution partners—managing expectations, resolving issues, and helping drive the placement of new business. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a service-driven, deadline-sensitive environment and brings experience working across functions to ensure client satisfaction.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide best in class service to Brokerage General Agencies (BGAs) and their case managers who serve the ultra-high net worth and niche business market.
- Serve as the liaison between external partners (BGAs, brokers) and internal partners (including the New Business and Operations teams, Underwriting, Sales Support, Licensing & Contracting, Disbursements, and Field Directors).
- Provide proactive case management from submission through commission payment, including pipeline monitoring and workflow management to anticipate delays, prioritize time-sensitive cases, and uphold service level agreements.
- Take ownership of complex and high-priority cases, serving as the primary point of contact and coordinating resolution across multiple stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve escalated issues independently; exercise sound judgment in determining when to escalate to leadership.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to other team members to support shared knowledge and consistent service delivery.
- Conduct training and onboarding sessions for new firms or brokers as needed, tailored to nuanced process and case-level requirements.
- Contribute to team-level process improvement initiatives, assist with quality control or good order reviews, and support deeper case analysis or exploration when assigned.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all product lines, new business protocols, age and amount requirements, new business and service systems, and related procedures.
- Assist with special projects as assigned and provide backup support for other team members as needed to achieve workload balance. Support may include assisting with processing of applications, policy preparation, quality control, and other duties necessary to maintain service level standards.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience preferred, particularly in brokerage operations or new business processing.
- Highly proficient in the Microsoft 365 product suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Must demonstrate strong decision-making, ownership mentality, and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to convey technical and complex information clearly.
- Ability to independently manage a high-volume workload, prioritize tasks effectively, and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
