CVP, SAP Financial Products Subledger (FPSL) Functional Lead

 

Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week

Preferred location is Philadelphia and hybrid / 3 days onsite schedule. A remote work arrangement may be considered for well-qualified candidates.

 


What You’ll Do:
• Responsible for defining, planning, tracking, and managing SAP FPSL projects successfully by identifying key resources and providing the direction to meet defined objectives.
• Lead and support S/4 HANA Finance pursuits and engage with all Development initiatives
• Translate business requirements into a software solution using SAP FPSL
• Supervise and coach junior colleagues and manage parts of project engagements
• Ad hoc analysis of production incidents and provide problem resolution
• SAP FPSL specialists deliver the technology and services to help meet business performance goals and improve processes
• Work with other project teams to develop solutions
• Promote and foster collaboration and knowledge sharing between Business & Technology teams
• Participate in project planning activities and manage the execution of enhancements & multiple parallel Projects
• Manage relationship with project stakeholders, keeping them informed of progress and issues in order to manage expectations on all the project deliverables.
Business and Accounting Understanding
• Worked on projects in the financial services industry (insurance companies, banks, fintechs, insurtechs)
• Worked in at least one of the following areas: financial accounting, financial controlling, risk management, regulatory/statutory compliance
• Willing to dig into financial reporting (e.g. US-GAAP or US Statutory)
• Evaluates potential solutions to ensure requirements are aligned with the accounting standards and can be implemented/configured in the SAP FPSL landscape
• Solid grasp of insurance accounting business requirements and ability to document and communicate them effectively to product owner(s), business customers and team members is a plus

 

 

What You’ll Bring 
System Knowledge and Project Experience
• Minimum of 6-8 years of SAP Experience preferably in FSI industry
• Prior implementation of SAP solutions
• Prior implementation of a sub-ledger preferred; experience with configuration of a standard accounting solution - preferably on an SAP platform (e.g. SAP Bank Analyzer, FPSL, Accounting for Insurance Contracts)
• Alternatively, SAP FS-CD, SAP FS-RI or SAP S/4 Hana FI (with focus on technical subledger)
• Engaged participation in the agile project delivery (sprint planning, JIRA, retrospective, etc.)
• Understanding of end-to-end system landscape (source, master data, general ledger, consolidation) and how the data flows from the source to produce the required bookings, reports and interfaces
• Ability to understand implementation design for new solutions and to specify requirements to developers for change requests
• Knowledge of SQL as well as familiarity with scripting or programming languages

Skills & Competencies

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technologies, Computer Science, Business, and/or equivalent experience.

• Master’s degree Information Technologies, Computer Science, Business preferred.
• Great teammate with a high degree of personal accountability

• Strong delivery focus as well as analytical capabilities
• Ability to work under stress and to cope with peak time
• Experience in working in larger scale agile projects
• Problem solving demeanor: ability to break-down complex issues into relevant details and solvable actions

Pay Transparency

Salary range: $125,000 - $185,000 (Philadelphia) 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No 

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
