Hybrid work environment: Only 3 days per quarter required onsite.

We are looking for Analyst/Technical Writer to join the Agile DevOps C4E team to document and support the company’s modern software development strategy. You will work with our team of talented engineers to gather requirements, document the processes and solutions that form the core Agile DevOps C4E processes for our technology delivery teams. Initially, you will focus on documenting processes and establishing governance centered around our Technology Delivery Lifecycle (TDLC) and the systems utilized within it, but this will expand into other platforms over time.

 

The individual should have 2+ years of hands-on technical writing experience to produce high quality documentation; be able to evaluate, analyze and simplify complex information; and effectively lead conversations with groups with all levels of technical experience. A good understanding of the Agile methodologies and experience with Jira is also desired.

 

Job Requirements

  • Obtain a deep understanding of New York Life’s Technology Delivery Lifecycle (TDLC) processes to translate complex process information into simple, polished, and engaging content to support the delivery team’s utilization of the framework.
  • Create and refine technical information in the various mediums available for explaining NYL’s processes, procedures, and the Agile DevOps C4E’s services.  This will include writing process documents and knowledge base articles, creating how to videos, and presentations for workshops.
  • Work with the internal teams to gain understanding of our products and create easy-to-understand high quality user interface and requirement documentation.
  • In collaboration with the rest of the delivery team coordinate and support the numerous releases throughout the year that require requirements documentation, creation of release notes and communication plans when required. 
  • Establish a governance model for Jira Cloud and Technology Delivery Lifecycle processes that would include creation of reports and dashboards for our internal team and key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Value Streams and C4Es partners to help understand their requirements and translate their user requirements into technical requirements.
  • Evaluate and coordinate the roll out of changes to our Technology Delivery Life Cycle processes to our Value Stream teams.
  • Evaluate current content and develop innovative approaches for improvement to help with agility and provide flexibility when setting up the Value Stream teams.

 Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field
  • 2+ years industry experience as an effective technical writer
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences
  • Experience using Office365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and working with online documentation tools like wiki’s and basic HTML/Web technologies
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with an eye for prioritization

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous software development experience
  • Understanding of the Agile Methodologies and Software Delivery Lifecyle
  • Experience working with the following tools: Jira Cloud, Confluence, Git & GitHub, Tableau
  • Knowledge of design concepts, wireframing, prototyping, and helping refine content to create visuals and diagrams for technical support content

Salary range: $50,000-$75,000 

Overtime eligible: Nonexempt
