The CVP of Quality and Business Risk Management will lead an organization responsible for developing and implementing strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure industry leading quality and risk management practices across NYL’s Group Benefit Solutions division. This leader will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate business risks, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and influence skills and a strong background in quality management, risk assessment, and business process optimization within the insurance or financial services industry.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive quality management strategy to maintain and enhance the quality of Group Benefit Solutions operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the development and implementation of risk management frameworks and processes to identify, assess, and mitigate business risks associated with Group Benefit Solutions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective quality and risk management practices are integrated into business processes.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators and quality metrics to measure the effectiveness of quality and risk management initiatives and drive continuous improvement efforts.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to proactively identify potential risks and implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
- Foster and model a culture of quality and risk awareness within the organization by providing training, guidance, and support to employees at all levels.
- Prepare and present reports and recommendations to senior management regarding the effectiveness of quality and risk management initiatives.
- Review current quality risk criteria and adjust quality sampling according to risk levels.
- Schedule and adhere to regular calibration sessions to ensure that the quality team, and the departments supported, are aligned with procedures and scoring.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business, Risk Management, Insurance, or a related discipline). Advanced degree and professional certifications (e.g., CQM, CRM, ARM) are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in quality management, risk management, or related roles, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
- In-depth knowledge of quality management principles, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory requirements related to group benefit solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and mitigate business risks effectively.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing quality and risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures to drive continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking to align quality and risk management initiatives with overall business objectives.

Salary range: $105,000-$160,000
