We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Lead to join the Field Operations Value Stream Technology group. This role will lead a dedicated development team responsible for implementing and enhancing sales performance management solutions, with a focus on the Varicent platform. The ideal candidate brings a robust technical background, leadership experience, and a strong understanding of the financial or insurance industry.
What You’ll Do:
Technical Leadership & Solution Delivery
- Lead the full systems development life cycle: design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performance technology solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architecture, product, QA, and business stakeholders, to define and deliver roadmaps and project goals.
- Enforce development of best practices, design patterns, coding standards, and documentation procedures.
- Provide technical oversight across multiple projects and ensure consistent delivery against timelines and budgets.
Platform & Integration Development
- Drive the design and integration of enterprise solutions across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Support implementation of key platforms, including CRM systems, Data Management platforms, and cloud-native services.
- Engage in post-deployment validation, release tracking, and support steady-state transition processes.
- Participate in UAT strategy and coordination to ensure high-quality product delivery.
What You’ll Bring:
- 10+ years of experience in application development, with a strong emphasis on Java, Python, or equivalent modern languages.
- 5+ years in a technical leadership or development lead capacity, ideally in enterprise-scale environments.
- Proven experience with system integration, API design, ETL, data pipelines, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
- Expertise in relational databases, SQL optimization, and performance tuning.
- Strong understanding of architecture principles, software delivery methodologies (Agile, SAFe), and DevOps practices.
- Experience with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, MuleSoft, or other large-scale middleware.
- Familiarity with unit testing, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Prior experience with Varicent ICM is preferred but not required. A strong willingness to learn and develop expertise in the platform is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in the insurance or financial services industry (especially life insurance).
- Experience in data governance, data quality, and data warehousing concepts.
- Working knowledge of XML schemas, ACORD standards, and microservices architecture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree or certifications preferred.

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $125,000-$212,500
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
