The Dedicated National Account Manager (NAM) will have responsibility for overall service execution supporting all Group Benefit Solutions (GBS) products, programs and service lines within the assigned National Account Client. Through partnership and active engagement with the National Account Executive (NAE), the dedicated NAM will participate in development and execution of broad service strategies in support of assigned client’s benefit programs and administration in connection with GBS products and services. The Dedicated NAM effectively manages business relationships and collaborates and communicates across all product/operational lines as necessary to ensure that systems and processes are in place to meet client/customer needs and drive efficiency.


Role Components (Responsibilities)

  • Effectively engage with a variety of audiences at all levels of the assigned client
  • Effectively collaborate with NAE and engage internal GBS service and matrix partners as needed
  • Serve as the GBS product and capabilities expert for the assigned client
  • Assist client in administration of GBS disability and life insurance programs in connection with internal disability/leave and life insurance administration including
    • Serving as employee resource for education on disability
    • Assisting employer  with filing, tracking and completing disability leave through providing information, access to tools, and coordination with client leave team, benefits staff, employee relations, and employee managers as needed
    • Monitoring return to work activities and confirmation to facilitate client HRIS system updates
    • Assisting employer with filing life insurance claims and other life insurance administration as needed
  • Serve as matrix team leader to ensure claim service issues are managed proactively and in a timely manner.
  • Develop general knowledge of GBS products/services across all product lines



  • College Degree or years equivalent related experience
  • High school diploma, or GED from an accredited school required
  • Proficient knowledge (min 3 years) of Group Insurance business; to include many or all of the following: industry and product knowledge, underwriting principals, risk and financial analysis skills, marketing processes, sales practices, account management, administrative operations and competitor landscape
  • Ability to travel domestic / overnight as needed
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, communication, presentation and influencing skills
  • Customer focus; ability to meet customer expectations and act with a sense of urgency
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex issues, products and/or solutions into a concise and effective plan
  • Demonstrated planning/organizational skills; ability to plan for both the long and short term; ability to work on many issues at once and drive priorities and results
  • Demonstrated ability to foster strong working relationships; ability to develop and foster relationships with clients, producers and matrix team partners at any level within an organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident and credible presenter
  • Can work independently
  • Demonstrated examples of critical thinking and execution
  • Possesses or demonstrates ability to obtain necessary Group Life Health Sales licenses
